Are there any HID kits for GSR's on the market? or a kit that can be altered to fit a gsr.. and is anyone here running hid's on their gsr's..?

Peter

GSR uses H4 and if you look closely they cost more, probably as they are HI & LOW beam whereas the others are just LOW OR HIGH beam. Just get some Rally bulbs from Bursons cost about $8 each, 120/90Watts compared to standard globes that are 60/55Watts, thats what I have and they are great, you can really see the difference when you are installing them and have one of each

when you start putting in higher wattage bulbs they draw more current and the standard wiring doesn't like it and there is a high chance that it will melt, just a word of warning seen it happen so many times

yeah my harness' have already started to melt, thats why i was hoping HID's could change this and also make my driving vision better...

a mate said it also depends on the actual light surround itself, as gsr ones are pretty cloudy or something like that.. is that right? something about not much reflecting things..

I havnt seen any signs of melting and have had them for quite a while now, also I do quite a bit of night driving so they get used for long periods of time. If your worried about it then install a couple of relays!

for the cost of 2 relays and a bit of 6mm wire and 2 90/130 globes it is a lot cheaper than purchasing a set of HID lights also they will also eventually blow just like the std H4's I have been running 90/130's (wiring upgraded) for over 2 years and i think i have replaced one globe in that time.

O and i can see thur walls!

*PLEASE NOTE THIS BULB IS UNLIKE SOME CHEAP QUALITY GLOBE WHICH MELT YOUR CAR CABLE WIRING OR VEHICLE POLYCARBONATE LENSES, SIMPLY PLUG IN & USE

It doesn't mater what they say Ohms law is the LAW ... 100w at 13.5 volts
is a little over 7.5 amps RMS so if the wiring in the harness is only 10amps and then factor in losses over relays plugs etc it is getting pretty close!!!

don't be mistaken by watts and K candle power ie (5000k or 8000k)
HID's are hi voltage and use transformers!

put the relays in ! or buy a good fire extinguisher

just my opinion

I got them in my car but it was done by the previous owner with all new wiring and relays.I keep getting people flashing me as if to say my high beams are on all the time

That is probably because HID's in standard housings will blind people coming towards you the same as having your high-beam on. Shits me when I see someone with them coming at me.

yeah im currently using those mtec globes.. they are not bad.. but i need brighter lights.. sometimes in dark areas i can barely see anything, even with high beams on..

so hid's in the standard housing are gona blind people.. is that only with the 6000k crystal ones.. would it be slightly better if say i got the 12000k with a tinge of color in them (purple) .. ?

I'd rewire your existing headlights before getting Hid's.
Heavy gauge wire and a couple of relays can make a huge difference to light quality (as Troy said before )

I did  Well yes it can make a BIG difference  But still need more light (Carnt use the 130W spotties in town but  )

Current lights on highbeam are:
130 .. 100 .. 130 .. 130 .. 100 .. 130
