haltech gtr runs 11.1 on pump gas

Help Support 4GTuner:

Oh yeah .. the GTR will definitely get into the 10s with a few more passes. Dead stock GTRs with the speed limiter removed have been tested at 11.3s @ 120-121mph, and the Haltech car has an extra 100hp or so. It ran 126 mph on a later pass - I'd expect it to run 10.70s without too much fuss.

as steve pointed out, this is the cars very first time to the track... as soon as the drivers get to understand and feel the car a little better

Yeah, I thought the thing would be a doddle to drive with all it's electronic trickery, but I have a mate who's driven that actual car, and apparently you actually need a bit of practice with it.

The 11.1 was the only decent pass from it all day - it also ran an 11.8 and a 12.40 that I saw. Each time he staged, you could see the driver screwing around with all the buttons and dials to turn the launch control on, it seems to take quite a while.

Considering the 0-100 times I've seen quoted for these things, I don't think a high 1.6 60' is out of the question, and if they nail that, then that'll be a 10 second pass right there.

I heard Joe from GAS was the driver or was going to drive it?

Either way it is a dammm impressive piece of machinery :D

yes i believe that they are using the nissan ecu launch control... but they were having issues with it as it would turn itself off when staging... everytime they would nudge forword it would disengage...

i've got the june issue of motor and on page 14 they have a 3/4 page spread on the r35 gtr v-spec.

they have installed a carbon-fibre trim and one-piece bucket seats and exterior body panels to shed up to 100kg from its hefty 1750kg kerb weight.

not only that rumor has it that it will have an extra 50kw or so to take power to 400kw~ and have carbon-ceramic anchors.

considering they cost 170K i think we should be expecting that,
its not the same old skyline it used to be thats 4 sure

It's no longer a skyline that's why.. it's now just a GTR..
the skyline continued with the v35 - v36 and now with the VQ37 engine.

When you say just about stock apart from ecu. Look at the specs of the car. It was built to compete with the best of the supercars with a price. You would think that with specs like that it should run close to that even without the ecu.

one of the guys that works for haltech, so happens that he used to go to school with my gf.

we were talking about the skyline, because he has some involvement in the car or something. nice piece of machinery...

R35 GTR apparently on tonights top gear... i think this will show that this is one bull-shit quick car  not that any of us doubt that it is...

i'd love to see how the E10 FQ-400 fairs up against the datsun or the europeans on the track... from memory they didnt test the FQ-400 around the track as it was on the same episode as the scooby-poo, they chose the base model evo t compete as they both has the 206Kw or whatever it is...

jeremy drove the 360 but they gave the stig the 300 so as to compare apples with apples around the track
