i have had my vr4 for 4 years, and have driven it for maybe 9 months all up and done maybe 10,000k's on it. if i didn't have a daily i wouldn't have a job. simple as that. it has been over 3 years since i have driven it to it's potential. and i can't wait for the day that i get to drive it again.

I got my Daily just in time, My GSR has shit itself before I wanted it to, I always had the missuses car or push bike as work is close by, but the Triton I got for a Daily is so awsome, I wish I Had a Ute AGES ago, I love it, not much to do Mods wise for it, just put the Dukes of Hazzard Air horns in 3 inch lowering blocks in the rear and cut a few coils off the front springs and it set, I got a set of 16'' steelies for nothing as an upgrade to the stock 14" rims, and its a 4G so it gets a sticker for the back window!
So I would say daily is good, the only down side I can see is two sets of rego to be paid. But yes it does make my GSR feel special jumping in it and going for a blast (when it is going good!)

Mine's been my Daily for 6 years :D although I drive conservatively, when extra power is needed its at the push of a button.

I've been looking around car yards at Lancer wagons and Express vans as my job has expanded and tools have increased and are covering Nth Shore City and Gods Country, last week I did 600kms just work only.

I Love vans, gotta be a manual van or a auto wagon cant decide what 1 though,
-wagons can be had quite cheap But
-vans still hold a portion of their value due to commercial use by tradies & couiers.

Well after much thought, i finally voted, now i just have to finish building my daily :D

Will definatly smile, from ear to ear.

+1. I could be rolling in an EVO 8- but all I have is a shell

And I could just about be rolling in that Evo IX MR I want with all the money I've put in to this fucking VR4!

My VR4s my daily. I do about 350km a week. I was a bit concerned initially about stacking the K's on it, was a low k stock engine, and all original body except two panels - until I painted it at least! Even had the original radio! Then I figured that's what front cuts are for, low k engines, so I might as well enjoy it as much as I can.

You can bet I'll be smiling a lot more once it gets back from the mech's [again]. Toyota Corona RWD auto loan car isn't much fun at all. :(

I always look forward to driving the Coupe when I do get it out of the garage, but I only ever drive it to the track (never leave it where I can't see it) work (secure carpark), a mate's house (up the driveway off the street) or upto CVAP to work on the farking thing (twice in a fortnight now!!) or just around for a quick run when the urge strikes to just get it moving. I always avoid heavy traffic and try to pick roads and times that will offer reduced chances of being around other cars.

A daily (lease car ftw!!) takes the stress out of everyday driving - I don't care what happens to it or where I leave it, my girlfriend likes it, it's comfortable and I don't care how many klms I put on it. It does bore me to shit but I'll never ever get a speeding ticket in it or a canary and with the cheap lease rates we pay through work it sort of offsets the rego and insurance for the Coupe.

well having the triton is bad as it uses fuel and it is very very hard to find carparks that it can fit into. and having a weekender is poo as its not finished and i cant enjoy it until it is :(. so train everyday

Understood. Lots of K's brings the value down.
And yet you seem intent on modifying a perfectly-good genuine Evo 3.

Yeah, but how good did it turn out, I dont want it high as a kite on 15's, it looks rubbish, and besides, modified..were do you draw the line? change the shocks? that blasphemy? i can just put the stock ones back in, theres nothing on my car thats not undoable with the one exception of the rear rolled guards, which will never be seen.

When im finished with this car, the parts that count will be standard, but restored, no chrome badges and shiny piping and shit, no stickers or painted engine covers...just factory look with a better stance and new shoes.

Words cannot describe how much I hate the cars I have to drive at the moment. Either a '94 shitbox Bluebird with 290xxx kms on it, or an '89 Holden Jackaroo 2.6L petrol that won't rev past 3k which feels like it'll tip over if you show it a corner.

i have a vy company car which is very boring to say the least.

my true daily is fred and he does bring a smle to my face every time i drive him i must admit. when you havent had a fast car for a while its the simple things that are keeping me entertained.

just fitted a bull bar on him today. had to grid it back a bit to fit on the spoties though...they opnly just fit in there

My daily is now a stock VR4. I dunno which car is my project atm, but back in the day when my GGSR was getting all the attention, I waited six months after the box blew. I was soooo eager to drive it, having driven the (very comfy but slow) company wagon all that time. Now the GGSR is up and running I don't have the wags anymore, and I really miss it. I reckon you're 100% on the money Jamie, if you can afford a daily, do it. It does make you appreciate your "fast" car alot more. Sorta like a weekend car. That's my opinion anyway.

cannot disagree more, driving to work everyday in the vr4 makes me feel so good..
coming up to lights, people looking just makes me appreciate it even more.
future music festival was on this weekend in adelaide and i dropped a few chicks off, wastegated off and the whole rundle street looked, maybe cos they thought im a dickhead, maybe cos they envy the car they have no idea about..
i want to drive my vr4 all day everyday
it does make me want to make it faster and faster though:p
