Hey people thought i would see if any of you guys have had this drama before i call auto elect.
After swapping over evo 3 engine , full interior and dash looms into my gsr im having the following dramas.
No power windows
No electric mirrors
No power to fuel pump
Rear window whiper wont work
When the head lights are turned on there is a buzzing sound coming from headlamp relay ( replaced and still same thing)
climate controll works
Front windscreen whipers work
Hazards and indicators work
Rear fogs , tail lights, and head lights.
Engine cranks

Ive checked all fuses , relays etc its got me stumped.
Battery is located in boot also.
Any ideas of what else to check before i spend cash on auto elect?

Obviously u did engine lOom, did u do the engine bay (electrical loom? I know the set up of the gsr is the same as the efi lancer, so they will have a different engine bay loom. The power for fuel pump ecu and radiator fan and stuff should run to a plug near airflow meter. U can splice it (that's what I did) that could be part of your problem (I'm running a coupe with evo3 engine loom so glxi engine bay loom)

As for windows and stuff I'm not too sure about. Mine are custom. But Car ran off the glxi loom all I had to do was splice that one plug.

If u have time try installing the Gsr dash loom back in. Like I said my engine loom is Evo 3 and my electrical (engine bay) and interior (dash) are glxi (I'm sure gsr are the same plus electric windows, mirrors ect) and I only had to splice that one plug

Thats the glxi plug soldered onto Evo 3 loom :)

Oh and after all that the car still wouldn't start due to the Cas. The wire to it from ecu had died somewhere in lOom (being old and all didn't like being moved) so that's a possibility something like that. But ur systems like windows ect point to something else like in compatable loom or something not getting power

Yeah i spliced that plug in like you have its gained me a few more lights on dash oil warning , check engine etc but still no windows.
You would think it would run with no dramas been ive repalced every bit of loom with evo 3 loom out of the one car.
I hate wiring does my head in i guess i have to strip everything out seats etc and check every connection.

All the plugs are plugged into the fuse box under dash? There are a few. Try changing interior loom back to gsr :)

Sounds like a few issues there Daniel
* Power windows get their power from one of the two large white plugs above the accelerator pedal that goes through the firewall. Its the white plug with the least amount of wires on it. The power for the windows runs through one of the thick red wires on that plug to your engine bay fusible link box. Check that the wire location on that plug corresponds to the wire location that goes to the power window fusible link in the engine bay. Whilst at it, check that the fusible link isnt blown.
* Behind the glovebox to the top left hand side there are 2 large white plugs that plug into your interior loom. Make sure they are plugged in as one of those plugs has a blue wire with black trace that feeds power to your fuel pump.
* Power mirrors need to have the corresponding door looms to suit your interior loom so they can plug into eachother. If you have Evo interior loom, then it will have a 5-wire plug for the power mirrors. GSR door looms and GSR mirrors only use 3 wires which are adjusting the angle of the mirrors. The reason why the EVO has the extra 2 wires in the plug is because of the Evo's fold-away mirrors.
* What rear loom have you got in the GSR? If you remove the bum section of the back seat you will find a large white plug behind the driver's side. A GSR rear loom wont have the facility for the rear wipers. Also, there could be a slight difference here between GSR and Evo that is causing your lights relay to buzz. Ive have it happen to me before. As a sanity check, unplug the big white rear loom plug thats under the back seat then try turning your lights back on to see if it buzzes. From memory I found during one conversion that it had something to do with Lancers running seperate circuits for left and right rear tail lights.
Anyhow, give those points above a go first.

Update.
Its runs!!!! Well sort of. Had a massive intake manifold leak due to me trying to fit evo 3 plenium to a big port motor easy fix refit vr4 plenium and change over the throttle body so i can still run evo 3 intercooler piping etc.
Ended up been the main fuse keeped blowing due to faulty alternator.
So i have power windows , mirrors now and the car runs but still have this buzzing coming from relay.
We disconnected rear harness and nothing changed.
We have narrowed it down to something in behind the dash we believe. If i remove the left side tail lamp fuse and turn the lights on it still buzzes plus the front left light comes on along with the right side lighting when it shouldnt be. This also happens when i hit the fog lights.
Getting close to figuring it out .
Maybe i will try changing the dash loom back to gsr monday when i get a chance and see what happens.
