I was just sitting here, drinking a beer, when i realized that i've had my engine out of my car more times than i have beers left in the fridge.

i find this quite sad, but i am curious if pulling the engines out is common on this forum or if im the only numb nuts.

first time, was the transplant.

second time, oil leaks in the timing belt area and clutch.

third time, new turbo cams more oil leaks.

fourth time, oil leaks then dropped the thing.

so that averages a removal every 6 months.

dont even talk to me about oil bloody leaks!

i realize i only have 4 beers left, this will be rectified soon when i send the missus down for another box.

done four times in my sedan, and lots count in my hatch, way to many times. in fact is still out now after over 2 years. but have been looking at putting it back in now.

i too play this silly game,
my old cordia had a 1.8, then a second 1.8 then a 2.0sohc,
then i ordered a new clutch, fitted it, but the pressure plate was wrong, and the starter motor couldn't turn the engine over
removed the engine gbox, changed pressure plates. the shop was good, changed it for free (to the right one)
then i got into the 4g63 DOHC, did that a couple of times.

I have had many donar cars, i think the cordia had 5 engine changes. but it came out more then that.

The lancer is next, i'm hoping that better planning and a clear line of modding minimises the amount of "work" i need to do.

was fun once, but i want to drive this one more

once when the original engine came out
second when the built motor had dodgy valve guides
third when the cylinder sleeve cracked
hopefully wont be a forth!

soon to be one on the AMG, and hopefully only once.

oh, geez if we start talking about other peoples cars.....
i have done like 5 conversions on cb gsr's alone, let alone my bros gtir. other bros starlet gt and other too!!

when it comes to cb model, my mates joke about it. i can literally tell you step by and even the size of the bolts and all. it does get quite sad really.

Dont wanna talk about it. Twice in my own coupe, but way too many times on other peoples Mitsus during rebuilds and conversions. Easily over 20 in and outs for sure.
