How To Get Flutter Noise ???

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

my turbo flutters like a mofo cause intercooler pod aftermaket ecu bov and the turbo and it has done it for a long time ever since i had it and then before that aswell

hey jon is there anything wrong with my turbo  NO

i have never had smoke or anyproblem with it and i asked my tuner if i could get rid of the flutter and he said that it could be done but it will not change ur effeciancy or turbo life

Huh? Anyone else understand that...

flutter is fine at lower boost, infact, almost essential if u dont want ur bov opening under boost cos the spring is too loose,

the reason hks & other cashed up race application cars dont run bov's is because they dont need em. They spend more per run than most of us will ever spen on our cars. Race teams constantly re-build everything, the damage caused by the absese of bov is nothing compared to the damage caused by the anti lagg system they ALL use. thats y they dont worry about em, just something else to go wrong.

& if u think that bov's are just a pointless autobarn add on like neons & furry dice then ur also mistaken, mitsubishi, audi, volkswagon, nissan (insert all other manufacturers here who produce turbo cars) dont put re-circulating bovs on their mass produced cars for shits & giggles.

do know how much cash thed save by omiting the valve, flange, bolts & vaccume lines from every car? shitloads!

RECIRCULATE ur bov! it improves drivabiblty, decreases driveline ware & would increase the 1/4 mile time which u'r all so in love with (psst.. its a ralle car) simply because u spend half a second less per gear change waiting for the wasted/negative energy to be replaced by the exhaust.

Iv got experiance with both vented & re-circulated & the re-circulated shits all over vented! & their both better than nothing!

OMG!!!

i dont know what to think anymore!!

we should ban BOV talks all together! they just fuck with a niggas mind!

8)

No BOV hasnt killed my turbo either, and flutter sounds a hell of a lot better.

I agree with Jett and Jon. Its a bolt-on useless thing like neons and stickers down the side of your car.

Flame away. :D

Cheers,
Nick

In a drag application, if you are running antilag or flat changing, then you don't need a bov as you are always on boost and if you are running antilag, then you are frequently rebuilding your turbos anyway.

Every one is forgetting the fact that the come from the factory with the car.

300,000 cars made...
Thats 300,000 Blow off valves ...
Hypothetically at $10 each

Mitsubishi just wasted 3 million dollars on blow off valves??? That they didnt need because theyre just an aftermarket fad....Your saying theyre engineers put them on there for the hell of it,I dont think so..Of course they are there for a reason.

Whether it be for performance or increased lifespan.
It would somehow factor in to be feasible.
Otherwise..why do it.

Name a car that has flutter from factory! Not many people back in the day would of bought such a car with flutter.

Those are some reasons i can think of.

Jon

Also the VR4 is a sedan and its not only the 18-25yr old male group that buys it new back in the day. Some 50yr old bloke back in 91 would've probably been turned off buying a car that went ssssodododo everytime he changed gears.

So they made the Plumb-back BOV to make it sound like everything else to help sales. Not everybody wants to be looked at everytime they change gears. :D

Sales ppl Sales! :D

Emmissions....? yes i agree for firstly the fact that if it dumps air it is lost or not "seen" by the computer.

and

Flutter causes reversion throught the airfolw meter which causes mixed signals to the computer which causes Incorrect Air/Fuel adjustments,Between gears mostly...

and how long are you between gears? .1 of a bee's dick?

Jon

Argue it with transport.:D

It actually occurs any time u hear the fluuter noise as well, worse if u leave the motor to overun without clutching.

not many ppl bought it anyway...

i doubt its there as a sound restricter, the air can does a pretty good job of that. mines very audable blumbed back , cos i dont have an air box

so after everyone hitting full boost about my q.....
im running the factory blow off valve....now if i just had a pod filter installed would i get some flutter...im not intending to change the factory bov.
If adding a pod will give me flutter, how do i go about installing to the car since i have that big round cannister ?
if anyone has photos with a pod installed using the original afm and they have just removed the cannister it would greatly be appreciated :)

[email protected]

or just simply post it on here for all of us to look at :)
cheers guys
Barbs

you could get a K&N filter to replace the standard one and just take the front of the air can off... that'd be the easiest way

otherwise you'll need an adaptor to adapt a pod filter to the air flow meter
