Where is it?

you know the dead end plug thats usually in the engine bay that you ground and stops the ecu from adjusting the ignition timing and ISC to control idle?

Thanks

Should be on the firewall, it's a brown plug, you can't miss it.

My sports gears ground wire was located on the middle of the firewall and my HSG is on the left hand of the firewall.

If you need a pic of it, let me know.

That orangey/brown one up the back is your grounding wire.

On another note, if you run Evoscan, do not run them at the same time as timing, it shorts out. I found out the hard way.

these are the only plugs i can see on the firewall...

so you recon its the brown one?

It's a dead end plug. Unplug it and you'll see a single pin inside.
Are you trying to set the base timing or idle?

trying to set the idle, i have just installed a new ISC.

there is no base timing adjusment on this engine as there is no cas. triggers are on the inlet cam (behind the cam gear) and crank.

it is surposed to be set at 750rpm in netural/park?

thats whats written under the bonnet, but the car just doesnt like that for some reason.

hrmmm and for some reason my base ignition timing is 2.5deg...

when upto operating temp and the wire grounded, even with the idle screw bottomed out i cant get the idle below 1krpm.

When the clutch kicks in for aircon etc, does it make a difference?

If that's not running full time, perhaps its the cam timing that is out? (like you said to me earlier)

yea idle up is working now thanks to the new ics.

are auto's surpose to idle higher in neutral than manuals?

IIRC my old Sports Gear 5spd was 750rpm aswell, or 800, so I guess not...?
