If anyone needs their car inspected and told whats wrong with it, just give me a call, and at my expense I'll even fly to you and let you know its not worth me buying..:mad:

WTF...

Sorry Im being cynical but i feel like a fuc*ing car consultant, every evo i go to look at i end up walking away from telling the owner (who knew no better) the problems with the car and why im not buying it...in the process, leaving me EVOLESS!!

Am i going to be looking forever..

Firstly, i fly interstate to find out the rebirth car im looking at is registered as race/Rally with DOTARS !! and the engine numbers dont even match!!!..Secondly i drive a 7 today that had less pull than the Barina (yes you read that correct)....either a seized turbo/inoperative wastegate or blocked cat perhaps...:(

My Budget is around 25K...

Rob, gimme the number of that bloody workshop with the 7's!!

Good things take time dude- patience is a virtue!!

But seriously- WTF is up with that guy trying to sell you a race rally import with plates on it. What a scam artist!

The owner didnt know, he was a young bloke, and theres a long story to it.....if you even want to know, PM me.

But its since been sold again! so the problem is passed on yet again

if your buying a JDM evo 7/8 make sure you look for rust! there was a white one sold recently on evooz for a cheap price (cheaper then a stock evo 7, and it had about 3k worth of mods) but it had rust everywhere! i doubt the owner told the guy who bought it that it had rust and i doubt the guy who bought it even checked it out! he is from vic and the car was from nsw.

This EVO is now in Melb i believe, i almost bought it, until i got a workshop to check it out

It took me almost 1 year to find the right GSR.
Would be much harder looking for an EVO.
maybe it would be alot less mucking around by going straight to a dealer like Troy did.

Thats the reason i ended up going a fresh import, got sick of looking at shit cars :(
Sure it wont have many mods, but at least, YOU are doing any mods, and know what goes into it :)

Thanks guys, the 7 you's are talking about, didnt have a 9 rear bar by any chance?

Id appreciate it if yous could keep an eye out..

Ive basically got 25k or thereabouts, for the right car..
Id even buy a CC GSR if it were a really nice one, im not looking for a project (dont have time), just a car i can enjoy striaght away.
That yellow one does look pretty nice, dunno how keen i am on that colour though. Do you guys expect that it will stay a buyers market for a while?

And

What does anyone know about this mob?
http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/

I find it good how you can get a full (and what appeares to be honest) reveiw on the car with an auction sheet. So there should be no nasty suprises...

I kinda feel like i might be in the wrong field looking for a 7 at 25K, is it wrong to expect to find one for that price?

Yes it was Scoda White, with a 9 rear bar, and black rims, lots of brand name addons.
Did you look at it as well ?

Hah, same car, yeah i had my eye on it, never looked though, i was in adelaide looking at an E IV, which by the way had mismatching engine numbers and road registration despite it was DOTARS registered...

There is no talk in theat evooz thread of rust..eeek, no one picked it up or said anything?

Jamie the thing is the roll on effect of the drop in the exchange rate is yet to truely hit the import car scene. With most cars taking a while to get from point of sale in japan to the dealer in Australia. It is more than likely that prices for late model imports will increases over the next few months as new stock purchased with the low exhacnge rate arrives off the boat.

Good point, your saying its mostly to do witht he dollar to dollar conversion then?

Still, with economical shit like we got going on, if no one buys then i guess prices drop..or nothing sells.

The place i got my VI from, has 2 others ready to go, a White one with sunroof, and a Silver one, and also a white VII to be ready in the new year.

For some reason i havent felt like i could use Jspec and trust them, do they do the whole warranty/auction sheet and inspection thing?

Dont know, never used them.
Both Imports iv bought (VR4 and VI) were fresh off the boat already in Aus (Both bought even before they were registered :| )
