Hey ladies and or gents...

QUESTION: Can i actually run 800cc+ injectors on an ECM link? (ie socketed Factory ECU)
If i can, what other supporting mods will i need?

I currently have coming a rising rate FPR, fuel rail and lines and i have an in-tank walbro.
I have a Wideband coming also.

What would be the advice of more experienced people be?
Will my idle be totally up the pooper or will tuning the ECM link fix that?

Cheers for any help.
Mike.

Hi Mike
I'm running FIC BLuemax 1450's on mine. Start, idle and drive like stock injectors.

Ecmlink will support up to 2150's.

As far as the intank Walbro goes, it was more than enough to support my injectors at over 70% duty cycle.
A lot of people have found the new Bluemax injectors in the larger sizes to work great with Link. If it was me i'd just go big first time round and never have to upgrade them again.
What turbo etc are you running and what sort of power are you after?

That was exactly the way i was thinking. Start big enough to supply for the extra i know im going to need.
I was watching the ECM demo's on the site and well, he makes it look pretty easy. Hopefully what i need to know is on the CD.

Turbo, im running a TD06 25g, Injectors are FIC 850cc, 055 maf
Power, anything around or over 300hp.

So the walbro will be sufficient? I won't need a bosch to make use of the 850's then?
Also, the ECU is capable of increasing the pulse times to compensate?

I'm not listening to the guy feeding me information any more if none of what he say's is true. Lol

just stay with the 800cc there fine mine is making nilly 500hp atw with a set of 800cc sards no problems ran a 10.9 the walbro pump will be sweet they start maxing out at around 400hp atw .you only need to go bigger if you want to run E85 or c16

As long as it's a 255hp intank pump it will be fine. Which fuel lines are you going to upgrade?
All I did was to run -6 from my filter to the rail and -6 from the rail to the fpr.
The stock lines are approx the size of -6 line anyway.

Mine was feeding mine no problem when they were using approx 1000cc ( 1450's @ 70% duty ) with no problem so little 850's won't be a worry :p

Did you specify what injectors you have when you ordered the Ecmlink? If you did then Tom will have it pretty much ready to fire right up out of the box.
If not look here, it gives you all you need to know :)
clicky

Well i've got the 850's coming so i'll have to make do with the "baby" injectors. Lol

I've got the -6 lines from the rail to the reg. but havn't done the filter side, I was thinking of doing it just for the looks side of it, but if it's not going to give me much of a gain over factory i might put it on the back burner.

I havn't actually purchased the ECM link yet. Was waiting untill i can not have to worry about moving the car for a few week while the ECU gets socketed.
Plus if i couldn't run the 850's on the ECM link then i was going to have to look into Autronic or some other big expensive aftermarket job.

Would the suggestion be send it off to Tom? and get him to socket/install the chip and send it back, or get the chip sent here and get the ECU socketed here somewhere?

It's probably easier to get the ecu socketed over here.
The main restriction is the banjo bolt that comes off the top of the fuel filter. That's the main reason that I run -6 from it to the rail. ( actually it now runs from the filter to a inline Walbro then to the rail :p )
lol Mick, I'm up to 3 mate!

Well in that case, i'll leave it for now untill i can bring the bank balance back up a bit after i get the ECM link. lol
Excellent. Thanks for all the help guys, Can't wait to get cracking now.

Let the driveline breakages begin. :D

Cheers, Mike.
