Two things:

Why rebuild the clutch master when a replacement is cheaper? (goto bursons)

Why put everything in a GSR? Are you dragging or track racing? Or you're just looking for more sleek lines?

I'd say a lighter and more nimble setup.

You should have bought my car tharaka, it only cost $800 to get the damage fixed!

anyone want to give me a part number for it? or a VIN number for an aussie delivered vr4?

the new one for my car was $340odd, and he said the one for the aus spec was $30 dearer...

why do i want it in a gsr
im sick of having such an old car where everything needs to be replaced
i just want something newer
i couldn't care about the weight of it, i just like the look of it
and after spending almost $8000 on the engine, i dont want to sell that, so the next logical thing to do is to keep the engine and put it into a newer chassis

now just to get it all installed

ok so all up, was 500$
175 for the master cyl from bursons
133 for the slave from mitsubishi
52 for the hose from mitsubishi
140 for installation labour (brakes plus on bell st)

Right-o, well here's a story contrary to this threads topic!!

I just finished purchasing the internals for my CYBORG's VR4 engine.....

They should be here in a week or 2! :D:D:D

Eagle crank
JE pistons
Carrillo rods
Ferrea 1mm oversize valves, dual valve springs, Ti ratainers, locks, guides, seals
HKS cams, cam gears, belts
Unorthodox lightweight pulley set
Cometic gasket
New water pump, oil pump
ARP head and main studs, crank pulley bolt
ACL tri metal race bearings

After 8 months of the car doing abosolutly nothing except looking real sad, there's something actually happening.

Soon i'll going into CREATD's huge new workshop (with 4WD dyno) to start prepping the interior for the fabrication of the roll cage.

The whole interior, doors, dash and boot will be removed, and the sound deadener will be frozen off and ripped out.

I'll take loads of pics and keep you guys updated for sure!

dre,
why did you specifically choose JE pistons and carillo rods?

was it price? quality? availability?

i dont really know anything about the brands for engine internals, the only reason i went with wiseco/eagle is because i was recommended them and they were a decent price

I'm looking to run a decent hit of gas when it finally gets going, so I chose parts that are proven to handle it. Carrillo make rods for NASCAR engines, and have been in the game a LONG time.

The rods were fairly expensive- $689 US +delivery, but they're what I need. I got them from www.extremepsi.com and they can ship them in 24 hours. They are super helpful and have all the parts you need for a rebuild on one site. They were heaps cheaper than the Australian distributors for carrillo who quoted me $1360 + GST for the set.

We also want to rev this motor to 8500rpm+ so it needs the parts to handle it. I dont want to have to rebuild again in the near future!!
