Is this a scam ??

Also has a VR4 rocker cover....probably not even a 7 bolt.
As a general rule, I don't take any think over 2k on Ebay as true.

but no rear wiper

If you look closely at the pic from the right rear quarter, I'm pretty sure you can see the end of the rear wiper. I've seen this on Ebay before, not sure what happenned with the sale though, maybe didn't meet reserve? :?

EDIT:

Just did an online VIN test (just the free one provided by EBAY) and well, here's what it came back with.

"Free Check Results
The Free Online Check found important information...
Make MITSUBISHI
Model LANCER CC
Body Type SEDAN
Colour BLACK "

Obviously if you paid the fee, you could get more info but even with this, If it was genuine EVO, should it state EVO instead of Lancer CC? Or is that the same regardless? :?

Yeah, saw that check too ...

Thats why I thought that the EVO's were all CD or CE vin plated, or is that GSR's :?: ...

Just a word of advice to people who might have intentions of buying this car in Vic , this car was bought from an auction in WA as a repairable write off

HMM, don't know about you guys but I will be staying far far away from this one, especially if it isn't disclosed upfront! Ebay is still like any other transaction - New owner has right to know proper history and I would think the fact that it was a write off is pretty significant isn't it?

A repairable write-off means it can be repaired and re-regoed, but I agree with you and people should approach with caution in my books as something doesnt quite sit right with me. A genuine EVO 1 cant be registered in NSW unless it was a personal import or low volume import from a dealer, either way there's very few here. NSW is the hardest state to get imported cars rego'd in (we dont register REBUILD or REPV vehicles from interstate) so I'm 100% adament and sceptical of the integrity of the NSW rego due to the previous history of the car being transported from state to state, and by the looks of it to try and get it into one of their computer systems and registered. If it got into the NSW RTA system then they're lucky. Who knows if it was done dodgey by a friend on the inside, in error or as a rebirth using the chassis number from a GSR/Sedan? But this thread is enough info to raise alarm bells http://4gtuner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6866 and piece together that something doesnt seem right and ask "how did it get NSW rego?". Perhaps the emphasised and underlined "comes with one year NSW rego" in the auction is true to the word  and who knows whats gonna happen next rego?

Anyway, it looks to me like a genuine EVO as per what was mentioned above and the strengthening brackets on the strut towers. As far as the owner is concerned I wouldnt be buying anything from a newly listed EBay user with no history. Or better yet, in this case, unless someone knows or could vouch for the seller its not worth it in my books. You could end up paying $10k+ for parts or a race car
