So took the plunge, and bought it. The drive home was pleasant, with my dear wife screaming at me to slow down and the kids saying go faster!
So far it's a pleasure to drive, terrible understeer when pushing hard in the corners and the tyres are shocking but enough drive to put a smile on your face.
The 4wd out of the corners is terrific.
It needs a bit of maintenance the pads are low, the plugs will need to be changed, coolant drained and system flushed, oil and filter change and then the mods begin hahaha
So far $50 filled it up and it will be interesting to see how far my wife gets on that compared to soarer. I'm hoping its at least a week otherwise I'm in trouble...("Yeah honey, it'll be better than the soarer...")

Thanks mate, Glad to hear you are enjoying it!
Discovered a few niggling things today taking the boys for a drive but should be easy enough to sort out.
The wife went for a drive on her lonesome and came back smiling so that is always a good sign, especially seeing as it will be her daily for the forseeable future.

Haha Benzo that is one hell of a weird expression... At least you won't have the issues associated with a turbo car :)
Thanks Jack, got some simple things to do to start with, as it's "my wifes car" I can't go too crazy just yet but it's had the obligatory panda sticker put on there with a big general service, fluids etc coming up.

Good choice.
Now you do custom chip and boost it to 18psi and you'll have happy face every time you drive it.

Btw:
If you change spark plugs go with bpr7 not 6's. You'll need them for higher boost ;)

Thanks vr401, I'll need to chat to you about the chip and maybe even some evo tune info. Discovered a viscous cut at about 5500rpm yesterday not sure if its a fuel or boost cut, definately not a speed cut as it was just under 130 when it happened and as long as I kept my foot planted it cut in and out until I backed off on the revs.
I'll install the ebc (Gizzmo) I have and just run factory for now, as i want to confirm the health of the turbo first before going too crazy.
The plugs are the first things that need to be changed as they put some weird bkpnes or something plugs in there, I assume .8mm is the standard gap, i remember reading that somewhere on the forum?
I like the idea of the evo7 ecu in there as well, would be nice to run two tunes, one for me and one for my wife hahaha
Really stoked to have stumbled across this forum, there is a serious wealth of good knowledge on here, i'm putting together a little database of all the things I come across for the RVR's that are best parts, plugs, coolant, pads etc so as I get that sorted I'll post up the link to it. I've spent hours and hours combing the pages for info and its nice to learn and see whats going on, but a quick reference guide is always nice.
