Kelford Cams???

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

i dont know anyone personally who has used them.

but have heard they work well, but so does anything
that someone is trying to sell

Dre's right, HLKS Cams are damn good...Anything HKS has pretty much been proven to be. :)

What Kelfords are you looking at man? A few Mitsi's over here have Kelford Regrinds anf they're doing a good job. :)

You need to work out what you want out the car/engine.

It's true that HKS cams have been proven lots of time but only in engines that have seen lots of mods, tune and money.

But for a daily driver with basic mods, an HKS cam will not deliver its full potential.

That's about the only place HKS cams will deliver their potential in my opinion .. they have a far less aggressive profile than some of their competitors.

goin kelford 264 272 combo as my hks ones arrived damaged an am sick and tired of waiting and dont want to wait again apparently these are a top quailty part so im givin it a crack...as for mods 3' exhaust, aluminium turbo intake pipe, gtpumps manifold, soon to be hks cooler piping, fuel pump,15psi, leads manual boost contoller, lil screamer pipe, mines ecu...aiming to achieve somewhere between 200kw-220kw at wheels an hopefully a low 12....possibly an assy 11.9 lol

if you are getting them get the proper billet cams

dont get the regrinds as it will cause headaches with setup

you cant go wrong with the B.C ones. half the price

Are they regrinds or new billet cams?

Do you need cam gears to degree them in when setting them up?

I'd go for BC's... no gears needed, new billet cams, cheap, and will arrive in 5-7 days from the USA.

I would go the HKS over the kelford ones, simply because they have been proven, time and time again!

Besides, HKS 272s are the most agressive you can go without having to change factory springs etc.

With Kelford 272s you have to change springs, don't know why but for some reason they don't fit.

they have to change springs as they have different degree angles etc meet up at diff points have hks valve springs and titanium retainers already in cams were sposed to go straight in just they were damaged

I've got HKS 272s with standard springs and retainers.

yeeah but if u pull it all out u may aswell do the springs and retainers while your at it because of the cam profile u get a lil "valve jumping" i think thats what its called ungrading springs etc eliminates this...

i had some hks 264's in my last motor. i loved them.
im running kelford billet 280's now in the drag motor they seem to be doing the job nicely
i did do everything at to the head as well.
