i got a set of taylor 10mm leads
and they dont fit

and i ruined my old leads when i removed them because they are pieces of shit

so im not sure what to do

to4garret managed to make them fit

and this is what happens when i try

i know i made a mess of it, but the shortest one that should be on cylinder 1 will only fit onto the first hole on the coilpack.
i had to use one of my old leads that wasnt ruined to connect up cyl. 1
and the car started up fine, so maybe i am just retarded

this is following the advice of this guy on gvr4.org

should i just relocate the coilpack? or should i sell these leads and get someone to make me up a set?

you should have two long leads, that are just about the same length.

then there should be one mid length lead and one short lead

you should be able to make out how they fit from those pic's.

though your leads look different? do you have the taylor writing on them? what about the box they came in?

well,

actually, if you look what that guy has posted, its the same as what i've got, apart from i've swapped 2/3 and 1/4 around on the coils to make them fit nice.

doesnt make a difference because of the wasted spark system we run.

you should be right, just a tip, be real careful with the spark plug end, the insulation is easy to pull out, thats why i got the little white bits on my leads near the spark plugs.

i was a bit heavy handed with them :(

i thought i fucked it up because my car wouldnt start

turns out my wolf is programmed so the coils are backwards

well thats just lovely isnt it :?

what are you going to do?

keep em,
the wolf was wired so that it fired with the existing leads you had.

are the leads the same length as the old ones?
im assuming not..

anyway, we can easily change the firing order on the wolf so that 1 will be 2 and 2 will be 1...

jspecs and aspecs are different also, the leads you got are to suit the aspec?? or us spec?? correct? if so, you'll get the wrong lengths...

i think theyd be for the US spec ones.....

however, Taylor have the same part # for 4G61, 4G61T, 4G63 & 4G63T in mitsus, dodge colts, huyandai etc etc

I might just sell them and get someone to make me some leads.
Or I should just go coil on plug with sequential injection and ignition

the pre-facelift syndrome strikes again

From memory (what's left of it), the pre facelifts need longer leads than the A specs as the coil pack location is different.

Can you mount the coil pack to where it is on an A spec. or is the cyclone actuator in the road?

I was using standard 4g63 leads from repco , which would've been made to suit the ausspec and they fit fine, albeit a bit tight

if i do switch the ignition sequence around, the leads will fit, but they will be really tight, and i won't be able to get the spark plug cover on

do you think you could take a photo of the leads laid out straight next to each other, maybe with the length of the longest added.

i will take mine off and do the same, just to check for you if you like?

if u want taco,
give me the lengths of the leads u require and i can get them made to spec in magnecore 10mm

how much would that cost roughly?
like, the costs of that, vs. going coil on plug
