LED illuminated clusters

someone was meant to give me a dead EVO 1-3 cluster ages ago for a prototype...... if anyone would like to send me a dead one i'm more then happy to convert it to see how it would look....

we have seemed to have lost some info on this thread... dont know how much info was lost but i remember saying..... pure white dash boards now available...

and prototype integrated SAFC into VR4/GGSR cluster... some RPM sections will go missing but then again, who's really looking at the RPM when your driving hard?? (unless its red line of coarse)......

i believe there maybe a GSR dash board that a member on here has kindly offered to send down for those of you that would like to see one made up..... stay tuned for that....

GSR cluster should be sent on either Friday or Saturday... Will try to do it on friday as I pick up the Lancer on saturday and may be too busy driving her, as it has been about a month... Lol...

just bought a whole heap of LEDs for my pinball. would these work in the vr4?

and jayrome, an idea how you could do your prototype integrated SAFC into VR4/GGSR cluster, just put the display where the bottom of the needle is and have bright leds light up the rev numbers instead of having the needle.

they should, but you might have some dark spots over the cluster.....

what do you use Jay?

I use the ones on the left of the pic, but your right there where a few dark spots but still looked quite good

if you dont want to completely disassemble your dash cluster... i would suggest these LED... they emit light at close to a full 360deg rather then an normal LED which is limited range.. there are a few more on the market (or ebay) which arnt bad, but its the design of the stock cluster that forces dark areas when using LEDs....

the other design was white dials that glow blue.... bit harder then LED (but less life span then LED).....
