lol at the bit about melbourne fighting sydney......melbourne nicked it from adelaide

who cares if he did a burn out so what..... give him the fine and let him get on with business

isnt hooning a discresionary law?
I wonder if he just chirped the tires, how far did he actually drive the car?
Honestly i'm surprised they dont impose a wipe off 5 campaign for F1, they may lose control and cause an accident.

Good on the police. Out of all people, professional drivers should be the first to lead the example of responsible driving and social behaviour. He gets paid millions of $$$ to drive a state-of-the-art car on the best racetracks in the world and he goes and throws a burnout on a public street. On the racetrack - he's somebody. On the street - he's just like you and me and subject to the same laws.

I said to a mate today, that he is probably one of the best drivers in the world at the moment, however with he's efforts last night, he falls into a category shared with p platers who have little respect for the law, driving like idiots and showing off for crowds. (obv not all p platers)

I dont think he should have done it, but i dont think they are the same calibre of driver.

honestly he will most likey have to face court, how do you think that will go,

Hasn't someone avoided harsher penalties in court by claiming that their car was safter, accelerated and stopped faster and as a result it was safe to drive at higher speeds? (or is this just a myth i have heard)

More than 15 years ago there was some guy in the news who got done for driving dangreously as he was getting it sideways. He got off because he was a race car driver and said that he had it under control at all times.

Hamilton might be good in an open wheeler, but he seems pretty sloppy in a tin top. Granted its wet, but being egged on by the presence of spectators/passenger, he gets it out of shape alot.

thats something that would be hard to prove... if you speed or smoke the rubber you have crossed a boundary... how do they define what is and isnt hooning off at the lights just because you accelerate hard.. i personally dont back off much when there is a police car around me...
