lifters shat themselves?

machine gun sound like coming outta my engine every now and then.. (LIFTERS I HOPE).. had to drive it back home ofcourse bout 150-200m and it was still driving fine. let the car idle.. oil light comes on when revs drop below 1000rpm, from previous experience im guessing im losing oil pressure aswell..

someone please say it's just the lifters..

have u checked the oil level?
have u drained the oil ?
have u removed the oil filter and cut it in half to see if theres anything wrong?

just do the basica inspections..

checked the oil.. still the same level as i got it from afas..
ill drain it tonight or tomorrow, got work soon.. oil still looks clean though..

that was gonna be my second suggestion.

daz replaced the oil pump..

thats the only thing i can think that would be causing the oil pressure to drop that low at idle

its not low at idle.. its fine at idle..
when i gear into 1 slowly take off.. if i dont give enough gas, the revs fall, and the oil light will come on.. other then that, the oil light wont come on..

if not, get one...

then u can actually see whats going on with the oil pressure...

i had this problem when i removed a fan and the engine was running hotter. What sort of oil are you using maybe a thicker one would do the job.
