Hey guys

I came across a vr4 manga being wrecked and found some goodies, I have a good condition wiring loom for a VR4 turbo and found a MD165808 connected to it, in good condition! i did some research and these are a rare ECU correct? single board, chip, log able. These can run ECMlink? my question is, i dont have a use for it but i grabbed it, my vr4 Aus spec has ECMlink already. If i were to use this for a project car (Starion, Scorpion) something like that, 4g64, with a 63 head. I could use this wiring loom and ECU correct? i would just need allot of splicing and cutting wires to get the gauge cluster to work like RPM and temp. Any problems do you think i would run into or should i sell these to someone who could use it on here and just buy a WOLF 3D or vipec? This would be a complete project car, not a daily so it would be big goals, i would be limited by ECMlink?

Cheers, Brock

RPM and Temp are simple things to have wired.

The RPM can be wired from the tacho interface (Mounted on the factory 4g63 coils) to the white wire with brown runner behind the starion cluster.

The temp guage wiring runs runs from the single pin sender at the 4g63 thermostat housing to the yellow wire behind the cluster.

(Please don't quote me on the colour coding of the wires behind the starion cluster as i am not 100% sure)

As tempting as it is to sell this with a good wiring loom it just seems to good to give up, I'll keep it and hopefully one day get my project started.

Cheers for the gauge info

MD165808 is the 90.08 Evolution spec ECU - 240PS etc. Just be aware that the 240PS evolution models have a different AFM part number than the rest of the VR-4s, so it's best to run that ECU with its matching AFM otherwise it could be out of tune. You will need 510cc injectors also.

The above wont really matter if ECMLink is being used to tune it... ieIf a Magna 055 AFM is used etc. If a standard VR4 AFM is being used, it is dead easy to correct to this item.
