Meek cooler piping kit?

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

the main advantage is the shorter path
that the piping takes over the manifold, which
in theory reduces lag

Yeah I know that in theory it reduces lag and I am sure it does, but has anybody actually done a back to back comparison to actually state they notice the difference in lag and how much/little it is between the two routing methods? Is it like noticing a 2kW gain in power or a 20kw gain in power?

Has it been considered that if you run over the manifold you're heating the air more than if you were running over the intercooler, and if this hotter air off-sets any lag advantage the shorter route gives?

It'd be a decent experiment to find out at least!!

when i got the 63 in my gsr (techsport did it) they went with the factory path with new piping instead of over the manifold which is the path when i had the 93 in there. i think jeff said something like this, there isnt much of a difference with lag, but whats the point of heating something ur trying to cool down. then he zac said what happens when ur sitting a the lights and theres no air flow going through the engine bay and u want power off the lights on launch, ur putting warmer air in instead of cooler air with the other path.
i wasnt goin 2 disagree with those 2 blokes so i went with what they said, and plus it wasnt i easier when i wanted 2 remove the heat shield coz it was rusted through.

197kw stock route vs 219.7kw.. 2 1/4' piping (about 1.2m less of piping)

mind you i was running 2psi more boost plus a new air filter!

looks like meek have been able to put together a
piping kit for me that runs over the manifold
like fish's, woo hoo

fish, do you have any other photos,

where does your hot side pipe run? through the radiator support
panel or under?

cheers

i have not plyed aound with it too much yet ricki,

pretty much i have evo cold side and vr4 hot side

i will need to muck around with it a bit i reckon

here's a more recent pic...doesn't help you guys much. I'll double check the route of the piping kit. I'm pretty sure it goes under the rad support, but i'll double check and get photo's for you all.
