I pulled mine and used liquid metal on it and it seals perfectly.

Yes,
I pulled the uni off and cleaned the whole area around the brass plug with brakeclean ( leaves no residue ).
Roughed the whole area up a bit with my dremel and then cleaned it again before coating it with liquid metal.
MAke sure that you overlap the brass plug otherwise it won't seal.
There are instructions on vfaq if you get stuck.
Make sure it is clean as a whistle before you coat it though.
