So, is it possible to get a Focal speakercone repaired? Hopefully it's worth the fact that I didnt' damage the rubber, just the cone itself has a nice hole in it.

I'm not impressed with the concept of getting 2 new speakers if it can be repaired. Anyone have experience in this area? Worked in car audio? know if it can be done?

A friend of mine does home audio ... And he has repaired the cone in speakers... He got them serviced... But these were home theatre speakers that were worth a couple of grand each ...

Not sure what they were ... They were some brand that I have never heard of .. He got them off one oc his customers... We was wrapped with them, and was so excited when he told me what they were ... His enthusiasm dropped when I asked him if they were any good ... That was when he told me how much they were brand new...

So, I was like ... Oopss... I see then ... lol ...

they should be able to get re-coned
i would be either contacting focal directly. or find your nearest focal stockist and they will be able to point you in the right direction if not take care if it for you.

sorry to hear about the speakers dude, its always the one thing im scared of everytime i have to screw in a speaker

I got mine fixed before. That was back in 2005. I had full focal system in the integra and a friend pressed his finger and made a hole. I took it to audiocom and they send it for repairs. Take over 2 months until I get them back. Somehow they were sent to focal factory to get fix. No idea how much it costs because my friend paid for the repair.

Have you punched a hole clean in it, or just opened up a tear in the cone? If it's just a tear, then super glue it up and I bet you won't notice the difference.

There are specialist speaker repairers all throughout Australia, a quick search on www.stereonet.com.au should find you one suitable.

(ps, that's exactly why I use cap screws on all my expensive gear now, too many "slips" in the past.)

lol.
yeh you can get them reconed.
Will not cost as much as a new set.
give focal a call. If they're anything like pioneer they should be very helpful.

Dropped them to a specialist supplier today. Who knows how long it'll take to get it back :/

And yeah, punched a significant hole straight through. Was the front end of a powerdrill that went thru it as it fell from a shelf above where teh speaker was laying on my workbench.

as said if its a tear, use some super glue.

If you have to get it reconed... then it might be worth just buying a replacemnet instead. Most decent companies sell the drivers individually.

Totalrecoil is a well known speaker repairer, but won't be cheap and might take a while.

ouch! that's some bad luck!

Got it back same day. Looks good as new.

Guy who runs the place turns out to be an old friend of a friend.

Sometimes it pays to live in a small town! :D he had the parts on the shelf and did it on the spot for me!@

That's service!
