Help Support 4GTuner:

doesnt help your resident mechanic is busy all week / weekend :(

btw, using a blown head gasket for not wanting to lose to a suby is a lame excuse...

well work has come to the rescue we have a long motor i am getting, so have some big work time ahead of me.
and yes timmeh you are usless to me now, will have to hire someone else i think.
fingers crossed it sorts a few issues while i am there.

useless hey? how many other friends were around last night getting the engine out after a call at 9pm????? :p :p

now to get drunk on friday night while putting the new engine together and back in.... pity we wont be able to test drive it!

just hope andrew doesnt need to get the poosar shell out anytime soon dude!

well hoping to, new engine has all the timing gear on it now, turbo ready to go on, need to put alt on ps, air cond when the engines just about in, change the sumpo sadly. new ones got a big dent in it!! that sux, but then she is ready. oh clutch and box on too.
but should be able to be done.
getting a proper oil cooler setup this time too.
and all going well. fingers crossed sunday i am guessing it should be all going again. just hope water pump doesnt leak or something else fuck up or i am gonna go nuts. so many lates nights is killing me.

craig, i am trying hard mate. it better be going and pumping proper power by the time you come mate or i wont be happy either!!

bloody late nights, early this morning we had the engine all together and got it back in the car, its all evo spec now too.
now just for all the hook ups and bolt ons to go, so maybe tommorrow ill have most of it done. still waiitng on some banjo fittings for the oil cooler thought, wont be here till monday.
but getting there.

would have been a later night on friday if you didnt turn all girly and cry about needing sleep before going to work on saturday lol!

at least its in now, we can get started on getting it all back together this week... just make sure you get the right banjo bolts this time!

yeah sorry the 1:15 am we finished was pretty early seen i had not been to bed before 12 any night that week or this week either.
anyway, getting there engines all in, most back together engine wise. still needs the transfer case and exhuast all finished, then rad all cleaned out and resinstalled, all the fluids done and get some flushes put in there to clean the rest of the crap out. then fingers crosses everything works ok and no leaks and stuff.
oh also this time round got a decent oil to air cooler to put in too.

its alive... and sounds better than the old engine!

hows that gearbox oil going simon? we really should stop working on the car at that time of night:p

yes late nights are taking there toll on work quality!! but yes everyone its going again.
its a full evo spec engine now, and as timmy said its quite different. sounds much diff, and cams are different. although this is a manual engine now and the old was auto so thats probably where is was.
i am yet to give it a good flex as its still getting cleaned out with some crappy oil and water at the moment, hopefully by the end of the week i can get thing sorted and cleaned and see how she goes, and weather it holds boost up high or not!!

Not sure. Simon wants to make sure he has enough to get everything sorted out on the dyno this time. Plus its probably not a bad thing to drive it around for a bit and see if anything needs to be done before putting it on the dyno.

that and the fact that if he makes more power on the dyno than me ill cry! hahah!

hahaha thats it, i am several hundred kg lighter, so really should only need about 170 to 180 at treads to be close. but i think that will be about the figure it will make too. ill be happy with 180 for sure.

i also need to be able to clean out all my radiator and stuff properly!!! have been cleaning it through with water and techtaloy mukowt but its still a bit cloudy, must be so much crap stuck in there its not funny.
i spoke to steve knight again today about the tuning, and we think its best to get it back on the dyno before giving it to much boost, having different cams and probably compression too, its best to check the air/fuel mixures again.
saying this i did give it some shit tonight, it does hold boost the hole way this time!!
infact from what i saw, on low boost looked to be 13.5psi and i think it pulled harder than what it did with the last engine on 19psi!!!
so fingers crossed.
