My "mild state of tune" opinions please.

Ill have a crack at answering this one...

What in your engine bay tell the ECU how air you are taking in..?? Your AFM.. So, a boost cut defender could be your answer or and EVO3 AFM (im sure there are better AFMs to use but this is the best one I could think of, plus i havent been 4G63ing for a while)..... Anywho, the 2 previous suggested ideas or both........

There is no real point in trying to trick your ECU. You are simply better off doing it the right way and sorting out your boost cut rather than going round it......

If this is incorrect, I know someone will correct me so we can both learn..LOL

Oh yeah.....

The manifold..... If you can track one down thats in good nick, why not. As everyone has already said im sure, the VR4 ones have tendency to crack.

But if you know how to weld, why not try and knock one up yourself? I did that for my Sigma. Came up a treat.....

Dude im making a dump pipe now..thats enough of a headache.
sure,i can weld..but these days making one of stainless would almost be more expensive than buying one..its alot of work in making one though...

I wouldnt even bother trying to make one unless i could get onto a tig,i got one at work...

F*ck Arc welders...sorry some frustration there,but im making my dump pipe with an arc welder that was made when jaws was a goldfish.C*nt of a thing

Whats happening on the 4th?and who is craig?
also,will the 055 go in on a stock computer? and u think it will almost bring it back to normal?

would an Evo 0 have an 055?

What percentages should i have on my SAFC2 running one bar?
i have +4 from about 5200 rpm onwards!!

and a stock reg...ofh yeah,im at 10 deg base timing,too high isnt it..

You can always swap to a single board ECU, chipped to suit larger injectors and 055

10 is a bit high, take it back down to 5 base.

Just to clear things up for stupid people like myself. A stock Aspec VR4. replace the std AFM with an EVO3 item. Then install a boost cut defender. Would the boost be able to be wound up over 14psi (thats factory boost cut isnt it ??), and not run into boost cut. Or, do you need some form of editional management like a chip or expansion module to be compatiable with the EVO3 AFM.....

Cheers for clearing this up, this has been something ive wondered for quite some time....

The EVO AFM will make it run lean? For the stock VR4 ECU 550's are needed to compensate for the different AFM.
Easyist option is to simply chip ;)

550+2gAFM = Stock VR4 ECU (Im not sure where boot cut will occur)

if you come and your still interested in selling the 14b you should bring it with you, i'm sure one more thing to get done during the day won't matter
