need a cv joint shipped

hey guys, i need to replace my front outer cv joint, but i can't get it shipped from camskills or any other supplier, other than mitsubishi out of california at a higher price. Does anyone know anybody who will ship to canada?

I'm still astonished that there aren't any cv joints that are the same, across the Mitsubishi or DSM range for that matter.

Maybe some research in you neiboring part of the earth you will find some way closer to ship than Aust or Japan.

Have you tried CVAP, Meek.com.au, Advanced Jap Imports, SSS Automotive, ect and I dont mean look on there web sites
I mean contact them to see if they have any in stock or coming into stock in the future.

I think you're pretty much fucked on this one. There are so many different types of CV joints, you'll have to go to the dealer. Look on the bright side, you won't need to replace it too often.

That's what i was afraid to hear....fucking car almost costing more to fix than what i paid for it. :evil:

Did you know they changed the bumper regulations yesterday? Evo 8/9s are going to be legal probably by next week. Maybe you should get one of those and sell the 1? Some of us might be looking for a parts car. :wink:

EDIT: Did you say you had some kind of aftermarket front LSD? YOu should tell the dealer before you order, I don't know if that afects the CV joint.

i actually just found out a guy who has a an evo 1 for parts. Gonna be talking to him after this long weekend.

Problem with CV joints is that there were at 2 different types used on the GSR and they are not interchangeable. The RS used a third type, and all three are not shared with any other model except for the CC GSR (CD5A, CD4A, etc).

i have alot to learn about 'these cars'. Our typical front wheel drives and rear wheel drives are pretty simple, lots of parts, lots of knowledge, once a person gets into these 'never seen before in canada' cars, it a whole different story. it's like owning a custom car.

The JDM version has a nifty "model reference" feature that I used above which isn't in the USDM version - it can look up which models used a particular part. Now all I need is a Japanese junkyard to root around in.
