EvoIII's aren't that rare (at least no more so than any other evo) and round here every other gsr, evo1, evo2 has an evo3 kit, so it makes a nice change.

There is about 16 Road registered evo 3's in aus...

U serious? ive seen around 8 of the original EVO3's in Sydney then

I wouldnt have a clue where they are all located but if you have seen 8 evo 3's with a CE9A chassis number then there is 8 in Sydney.

Not flaming you or anything man, but its hard to tell whats genuine these days and whats not. There are a lot of hot GSR's going around :)

It was 16 exactly as of the 22nd Feb 2008. I dont know how many personal improts have come in since then, but it wouldnt be many.

Yeh maybe... the ones ive seen have ariel at the back, full evo kit, evo3 interior... looked just like a genuine EVO3

Didnt get a look at the VIN number though.. like Clutz said some might have been REB ;)

Absolutely, there are alot more than just the gold pate imports. But there are certainly alot more fakes than there are genuines.

imo, a CC GL with oem evo3 bodykit, rims, rear window wiper and elec antenna will pass for a genuince ce9a

and as mentioned above, just about every GSR has an evo3 kit. at the end of the day its just a car and the owner can do whatever he wants to it.

Indeed, im gettin over the whole EVO bodykits now coz everyone is startin to throw them on every car... sorta ruins the EVO name :( for instance the bloody laser on carsales grrrr

The only cars that deserve the EVO kit are EVOs!!!!

so disrespectful...
most likely ill b bogging 'Evolution III' outta my sideskirts...

The bodywork looks alright, though I agree the cheap taillights/indicators bring it down a bit.
Dunno why people get so worked up over a cheap bolt in cage anyway, it's just a fashion accessory (those front bars that go round rather than through the dash will do next to nothing if it ends up on it's lid, and you bang your damn knees on the mgetting in and out).
Welded in cages, tagged to the pillars ftw!

The wheels are Rays gram lights 57pro's.

I think a bolt in cage does a little more than become a fashion accessory, especially if you are running harnesses.
No doubt they are not in the same league as a weld in job but still provide a fair amount of protection if you end up on the lid.

I am going to fit a bond bolt in job into my car, for a few reasons...
Its CAMS approved.
Its $1200 with harness bars for a 6 point, compared to the $7000 quote I got for a weld in cage.
It can be removed without any major refitting to the car..ie finding another dash to replace the one with 2 big holes in it :D
Also transport legalities, as in my state 2 seater registration is not allowed, therefore making 6 point cages illegal, I will be able to remove the front legs when not at the track and still be road legal.

I would rather have a bolt in cage than no cage at all whilst being strapped into the seat with a harness, being unable to move your head while the roof caved in around you :)

check out this 1 scotty,
might be what ure after, not sure

That's also my solution to everything

I'd love to have a stock looking GSR .. the whole 2L thing and huge front mount kinda kills that idea though. I've thought about putting a stock wing on it, but there are better things to spend the money on.

edit:

Indeed, im gettin over the whole EVO bodykits now coz everyone is startin to throw them on every car... sorta ruins the EVO name Sad for instance the bloody laser on carsales grrrr

I dunno how you can take exception to that when you call your car an 'evo coupe?'

I don't care one way or another, fast is fast, and that's what about all I care about. I'd never call my car an evo, it's not, besides, I'm proud of having a fake

Cheers Dean
that would be the go but it,s not CAMS approved :( it would be good for someone who just wanted to do the odd club day or hillclimb though?
I really wanted an approved one just in case i decide to get a bit more serious in the future and compete in race events :D
