Im after an oil pump replacement for the RVR hsg to go along with a balancer shafts removal kit.

Not sure is this the correct oil pump listed on ebay? or does anyone know where can I purchase it locally in Perth?

6 Bolt / 7 Bolt refers to the crank/flywheel bolt qty.

I believe all RVR's are 7 Bolt.
Not assure us there are the odd ones that are 6.

Confirm by counting your crank/flywheel bolt qty.

There are other ways to identify. Just search/google and you will find out how.

I highly recommend going genuine for your timing cover/oil pump. It may cost more but you are guaranteed the best quality. I've heard of aftermarket ones being inferior with quality and failing (clearances etc).

Try Odins in Balcatta Wae. They may not have it on the shelf but they can get it for you. They love the odd ball shit.

That is a seven bolt.

Ive used the egay one no problems.....what is wrong with that one? is just needing the balance shaft delete shaft fitted?

Yep you will need a 7-bolt EVO I-III, 2G Eclipse, RVR etc version.
That oone you have on the EBay link is fine and the going rate including postage. The US ones sell for a similar price posted.
Also a word of advice before reinstalling the oil pump cover. Clean both mating surfaces with metho. Grab some Hylomar spray and spray both sides of the new gasket with it. Wait a few minutes til the gasket gets tacky, then mount it onto the back of the pil pump cover.
When tightening the cover back on, DO NOT tighten one bolt up fully then move onto the other as you will crack it. Same goes for the water pump etc.
ALWAYS put a light torque on one bolt, then another light torque on another bolt diagonally opposed to it, and work your way around like that.
Finish by putting the final torque on with a torque wrench.

Current oil pump only need new gasket/seals/good cleaning but one of the balance shaft has a bolt snapped off at one end, so both shafts to be removed and balance shaft delete kit to be fitted. Is it viable just to purchase the gasket/seals or buy the complete oil pump kit from eBay?

Also had a look at http://www.4g63turbo.com/tech/eclipse-balance-shaft-removal.html I want to be certain with the left balance shaft bearing, do I leave it as it is? does it need to be remove or take out and clock into differnt position and refit?

As fitting the oil sump back on, what gasket sealant do you guys suggest?

Hi Wae,

I have a stub shaft for the oil pump drive if you want it. Also got to new bearings to block the oil galleries. The stub shaft was one I made after doing a balance shaft removal, it has no signs of wear, just needs a tap and a grub screw in the end of it to block the oil gallery which I could do for you if your not that way inclined. The only other thing you would need (with respect to removing the balance shafts) is a welch plug to block the other hole in the front case. Let me know if you can use it mate.

I have purchased the kit a year ago :p comes with 2 bearings (for the righ balance shaft bearings), grooved stuby, plug, and crank sprocket space.

Geo what have you done to the left balance shaft bearing?

I do know oil is feed through the left balance shaft coming from the oil pump and not from the block it self. Should the left balance shaft bearing be removed and not require a new bearing?

Wae
