ok, what car do i have??

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

The car that it says it is and the car that it actually is, are 2 different cars. Someone has rebirthed the E33A VIN on an E39A. It's car conversion.

That what I was saying before- the car might have been unregisterable, so they made it resgisterable using a completely different car's VIN, or it could be stolen, who knows.

well, i didnt get to trasport department today to sort anything out. But i did get 90% of all my stereo gear. and on the hunt int he car for what stereo wire does what. i have found the memory wire for the climate control :)

but ariel wise, it has both the rear guard mount ( small plug, need adapter to make work) or a std plug that runs onto the back window, im assuming thats jap spec. and hence why the hell would there be a motorised guard mount aswell?

well not sure how to go about this now, 99.9999% sure its had the VIN and Chassis code cut and shut. Finding a Japenese recipet under the carpet and some coins will do that though. on the plus side. atleast its not 2 cars welded together

it comes up on the Mitsubishi system for me as a E33A ,

the original rego was CR2035, or the last entry for that chassis ,

it also still showing a recall that needed to be done also

here is the original engine number ( 4G63 KG8180 ) ( good to also check )

the original color is ment to be white also

was private sale from a mate, certaintly wont be going down the refund path. had a really good talk with transport department bloke today. he wasnt to fussed about it all. said to drop it into the poilce yard and they will go over it. said that it is known for Mitsu's to have conflicting jan vs aus Vin numbers, pajeros especially.
he suggested that if things havent been done legit. it wont be to hard to get sorted, possibly mod plate or similar scenario.

AAhh, it is so much more relaxed in our southern state of Tasmania. I love it down there, and look forward to Targa trips etc . Every time I step onto Tassie, I feel so much more relaxed... no one seems too stressed by anything. BTW , I am serious, and not taking the pi@# , the mainland really is becoming a stressfull Nanny state. Good luck with your Galant. If it was presented here in SA, I could guarantee it would be crushed by the authorities, and you would be in some serious trouble !
