Food for thought.
I have just started taking my 18 year old out on his L plates. Unfortunately Dad knows nothing and 18 year old is all knowing. I do my best.
Obviously even driver training schools don't always state what is taken for granted?? OR do the young ones just not listen??

As a defensive & advanced driveing instructor I have come to the opinion that the majority are more concerned about looking cool rather than sitting up correctly with arms bent and steering with TWO HANDS at the 9&3 position
If you have to hold on to the roof, door ,gearshift or handbrake while driveing then get them fixed or upgrade to a roadworthy veichle !!!
Unfortunately the learners have been sitting behind mum & dad for 16 years and have learnt all the bad /poor /sloppy driveing habits
IMHO family that intend to teach their children badly need a refresher course to be able to teach the correct skills
The sad facts aer that 1 in 6 newly licenced drivers under 25 will die as the resultv of a major CRASH and for every death there will be 10 survivors that will have some permanent injury for the rest of their life
FACT ONCE ON P's THE DRIVER IS 5 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO CRASH THAN ON L's
FACT DRIVERS UNDER 25 HAVE 5 TIMES MORE CRASHES THAN THE 50+ DRIVERS
END RANT
