hi there guys i have had my RVR for 4 yrs now and im finding it really hard to find parts for the RVR i want to lower it and make it quicker. i was thinking on new turbo from the td04 to the tg05 and front mount intercooler. dose any one know a performance work shop that has worked on RVRs. i live in melboune. i find that ebay has pretty much nothing for them to so if you know of web site to help me plaese let me know. thanks

try
bidjdm.com

I'm doing a resource for all spare parts and local supplies, have not yet looked into springs,
But I know they can be sourced from Japanland.

Re: front mount, you would need to change to an HSG front bar to put on a frount mount, no space on the SSG fronts.

Re: working on the car.
Anyone who specialises in EVOs can work on an RVR, same set up more or less.

Re: turbo, find someone on the forum who has the size one you want and have it rebuilt (if required) it's a bolt on mod.

re

oh thanks mate!
dont really know where to find the hsg front bar or side skirts for that matter do you know where i might find somewhere that stocks them?

They're not a common stock item.
Japan has some stock of them, but to ship over here costs to much.
To buy direct from Mitsu Aus, you're paying an arm and a leg.

Some Japn import placed MAY have stock, but honestly, don't hold your breathe.
Your best bet is to simply find someone who is wrecking, or has a spare/ no longer wants and keep checking eBay.

Apart from those, you said you needed some other parts.
What were they?

Well my RVR has just started to spit out oil from the exhaust so i think it might be the rings or the turbo. I started thinking of just buying a new car but the RVR has been good to me. I am thinking of upgrading the suspension and lowering it 2”. Also maybe rebuilding the motor if needed. Upgrade the turbo front mount intercooler and look at doing something about the ECU. Do you know much about the ECU?? And im looking at finding some 17” wheels that we fit straight on. I think the stock FTO wheels fit not sure tho.

Turbo is easy to check for play (wear)
Simply remove the intake snorkel from the turbo intake, reach inside and grab the end of the turbo prop shaft, move it back and forth, up and down, if there is a lot of play, then your turbo needs a rebuild.
Also, check inside the rubber hoses leading into the top mount, and from the top mount, if there is oil within these, then yes, your turbo is blowing oil.

Could also be something as less expensive as valve stem seals....
What color is the smoke?

How many K's has the car done?

Re: wheels, stock fitment is identical to FTO wheels, however FTO wheels are 16" max, +38 offset.
You can buy 17", depends how you want it to stand, mine sits in 16s at a +46 offset.

Magna 17s will also fit
Anything with 5x114.3 PCD with according offset will work.

the smoke is black when i put my foot down with drops of oil.. its done 220 000ks she old but i have had no worrys till now.
i mite check the hoses this weekend and the turbo aswell.

thanks again mate.
