Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone nasty any experience with these or other of their products. I'm slowly working towards making the car more capable to take to track days. Gsr brakes seem okay for the street but even with dba slotted and project mu all around I think the car would just be frustrating to drive fast at a track due to the brakes.

I'm sceptical these may be crap and curious if any new brake kit I install needs Adr approval for the car to be driven on the road. I'm also considering a d2 6 piston kit which is roughly twice the price. Before anyone tells me to buy second hand brembos I'm not interested in the whole 5 stud conversion as I have 3 sets of 4 studd wheels to work with. I also don't think that upgrading to evo twin piston calipers and rotors is going to be a big enough step foward. In saying this I don't plan on anything uber expensive such as George has on the pointy end of his mad time attack machine. Any advice appreciated

It might almost be worth giving them a shot. you will most likely find they are using similar parts to other brands.
they are radial mounts too.

my main concerns would be things like replacement pads and rotors?
dust boot or not on the pistons?
clearance to the inside of wheels? (you may find your wheels don't fit anyway)

also it depends how fast your car is, on my old setup(270kw, 1100ish kgs) I had 294mm evo4 rotors and wilwood 4 piston callipers and they were not up to me pushing hard on the track after (two laps)
in a car with maybe 200kw they may be sweet though

Probably not what you want to hear, but I think you're ruling out twin pots and good (I mean GOOD, none of this EBC crap) pads too soon.

Personally I'll have no issue with running twin pots and Carbotech XP8s when pushing 280-300kw in the Evo when it's going.

Too many people are ruling out the capability of twin spot EVO brakes with a set of decent pads. I had my car at Sandown (a track known for being very hard on brakes) and the twin spots with EVO rotors and EBC green pads pulled the car up fine over the whole day. What you need to remember is no matter what sort of brakes you run (twin spot up to 6-8 spot) you always need to do a cool down lap to give everything a chance to settle temp wise. This helps everything last that much longer and keep performing at optimal level next time out.

I think a lot of the upgrades we're seeing to Brembos and such are more for wank factor than necessity, I'll admit that it was part of the reason I put them on mine!

a lot of it depends on the driver too. On the S13 I sprint we had stock brakes and good pads/fluid etc, I couldn't do a full lap at winton but my mate had no issue

can someone pleasetell me what size the standard evo front rotors are? id be looking at 200kw atw and probably around 1100kg. ive always felt more confident pushing hard when the brakes have been more than up to the task. this car has never seen a track but would like it to eventually. ill email the seller and try and find out some dimensions and query pad and rotor replacement. cant hurt to see what they come up with. At that price they would be around the same price as changing to evo twin pot setup once i buy decent new slotted rotors and pads. if i did get them id change the pads out immediately to something dedcent.

I found this with my jza80 supra at my first track day. did 2 laps then parked it up. had the factory twin pots and decent pads and fluid. went straight to massive 385mm slotted trd rotors and 6 piston callipers and the car became a weapon to drive at track days. imo it was the best 3k i ever spent on that car

Im going to 296mm magna discs with wrx 4spots with wrx 2spots on back.
But only cause its stuff that is laying around.
So it can be cheap. But cheap and bolt on is hard to get.

That kit looks good but it has to have dust boots on the pistons. As dougmo said.
Or the pistons will sieze up pretty quick

hey jack, will the wrx caliper support a thicker rotor? as the Mitsubishi 380 has the same offset but is 28mm thick instead of 24mm (like magna and evo4)

*EDIT*
Or, I could just follow the link above before I gob off, let someone else tell you about it!!

Benozi (AFAIK) put the 3000GT calipers on the front of the GSR I'm driving now. Maybe a good cheaper upgrade if you don't have to take it over the pits / want to get it engineered. Items also required would be a 17" rim and a 5mm spacer, and adaption brackets. Rotors are slotted and crossed DBA to suit. But hey, at least they say Mitsubishi!!

A bit like Georges earlier car 280kw @ about 1150kg and brakes are something I thankfully never seem to have to worry about. Even as mentioned above, I doubt I'm the kindest driver on brakes. They get mighty hot at the end of a longer sprint, but have never gone soft on me, and when warmed up offer a really consistent pedal.
