Hey all

I have found a Power FC for sale for an Evo 3. Of course Apexi didnt make them originally for the early models but apparently this place has modified an Evo 5 one to fit and they claim to have sold many before with happy customers. Selling for a bit over $1000

Do you think this is for real? Guys with later model Evos reckon they are a great value for performance mod.

What do you think?

I don't think PFCs have a place in the early mitsu market. The tuning resolution isn't that great, and the usual advantage of the PFC (ability to run larger AFM, use all factory sensors, plugs straight in, etc) is negated when you can just get your ecu chipped for less money, as well as log data from the standard unit.

I would rather spend the money on map sensored haltech (or similar) with in-built boost control and configurable inputs/outputs if I was going to a complete stand alone computer.

Apexi Power FC is made in a D-Jetro version also, which is a MAP sensing version. It is also available for the evo 3. There is plenty of support for this product. I would first decide on who is tuning your car, and see what they recommend, as its the tune that makes the difference. Power FC is a proven product, but so is autronic, haltech etc etc, all comes down to the ability of the tuner.

havent power fc's been discontinued?

i thought they stopped making new ones last year!

Yes, certain models of the Power FC have been discontinued. It was due to a processor that is no longer in production. The one used for the EVO 3, is the same as EVO 5, and it is still in production and has full support from Apexi.
