Hey guys,

I just thought I'd share a graph I compiled at Springy Motors today.

Quite interesting to see different setups in action on the dyno.

All runs are done in 4th gear.

bazeng = vr4 rs gearbox / GT3082 / 2.3L / Autronic
fq400 = evo 8 gearbox / GT3582 / 2.3L / Link
s15eta = evo 6 gearbox / 20g / 2.4L / Autronic
g5r5ol = lancer gsr gearbox fp3065? / 2.0L / Autronic

98 pump fuel
Street driven
Cam selection for all vehicles, not sure!

bazeng has a custom spec 272/272 type cam.
Can you other guys let us know what you are running..

The 2.4L with the 20g is pretty cool. Full boost from the very start. g5r5ol is also a stock bottom end motor which is quite impressive!.

Boost is the dotted line (in FQ400's case, its the smoother line)

Thought I'd share!

Discuss!!

which graph did you use barry ? I have another one at home that is 260kw... :p

mine has

Jspec VR4 - stock internals.
No Balance Shafts
Forced Performance FP3065 turbo
Kelford 272/272 Cams
full 3" exhaust
ARE intercooler
800cc injectors and upgraded fuel system to suit
Autronic SM4

and on 22psi :)

That is great being able to comapre them all like that! Harrys car is on full boost so early!! Wed all have no chance haha

wow baz! good work mate!!!!! my car is runnin 272s......and yeh im loving the way it drives, its just fast no matter where u are! i say:thumbsdown: to a bigger turbo

:p to everyone who has told me otherwise!

Yeah, but does it have Direct Exhaust Injection? :thumbsup:

Dan,
I just used the last run of each car (for fq400/g5r5ol and s15eta)
My last run was 400+kw's but was on c16 so I didn't want to compare it.

I had another one on 25 psi and 330kw's BUT it had an open exhaust so I didn't want to compare that either.

Yeah it is pretty cool to overlay graphs like that. I can also show front wheel power / rear wheel power / etc etc.

Note how much further the 3.5 gearing takes you on 4th gear (g5r5ol) but also how much the 3.909 makes a car more drivable on the track / street (the 3 other cars).

if u ever get a minute baz....u should try and overlay a torque graph and as u said, front and rear wheel power:thumbsup:

Is that also why Dan's is coming on much later?
Very interesting results.

i think you will find that its because dans is the only 2.0

and also the only stock bottom end

and the big cams wouldnt be helping too much

If Dan had a 3.909 box, it would be earlier but also end sooner (notice how his speed goes way past the 3 others... his 4th will take him further).

The ideal way to compare power would be to use rpm BUT we can't do this in this application unless we work out some figures. When Springy dynoed them, they used road speed.

Also with Road Speed, you can't fudge the graph by running it in 3rd and saying that it is a 4th gear run.

But yes, gearbox ratio's make a massive difference in performance. The next comparison graph, I'll add in OSCARS lancer which has an greater ratio than the gsr.

bloody oath, the 2.4 really makes quite a difference over a 2.3

pretty mad

I reckon the fact Harry's smaller turbo (in comparison to the others) is probably better suited to daily driving as opposed to making massive power makes more difference than the 0.1 litre in capacity.

I'd like to see what the chart for FQ400 or Bazeng with a 20G would look like.
