where do i start engine is on the stand.

and what order should i pull it apart.

thanks guys

if you havent done it before.. undo it all systematically.

undo all the bolt ons:

- intake manifold
- exhaust manifold
- Thermostat housing
- Cam sensors
- Timing covers

then start unbolting the head
then th bottom end

just keep everything together otherwise you wil lose things.

Wash out those plastic Chinese take-away containers and put your bolts in them. Dont forget to write on the side of the container in black texta where the bolts come from

What they said ^^^^. you have the right idea with the plastic containers.
What are you planning to do with it all? make a mess? sell all the bits? learn how it all works? rebuild it?

i went out n bought 20 chinese food containers for $10 with lids and hav labelled them. made that mistake last time. well i havent decided what i am goin 2 do yey, i'll see what the condition of the pistons rings and block is like first. mayb i'll do all sell some stuff rebuild it and sell it off. i dnt know.

take pics of it all in detail before you start then you will have a reference to where that weird a$$ clip or bolt goes where ;) have fun :D

easy to strip a 4g93t... just do what jstyle said...

pull head off... pull sump off... then start with the rod bolts, then crank, but make sure bolts stay in order... dont mix em up... then u will be able to see how the bore is... :D

dont sell ya motor in parts... if your selling it sell it whole...
