Hey guys my Gf has a proton satria with a 4g92P, wanna do an engine swap, been lookin at 4g93T's but which ones will fit relatively easy and which wont? as ive been told protons mount there engine oposite way just to be annoying :p

Any help and guidance would be great, sick of reading
Malaysian websites with broken english... from wat ive heard i can use the current 5 speed thats already fitted just need to run a smaller flywheel to be compatible
 
Depends what you want to go in it, turbo or non turbo?

Non turbo motors

4G93P 1.8 DOHC- M21/GTI
4G63 2.0 DOHC - HG Galant GSR (and others)
4G61 1.6 DOHC - CB Lancer GSR
6A12 2.0 V6 QUAD CAM - HJ Galant
6A10 1.6 V6 QUAD CAM - Import Mirage


Turbo motors

4G61T 1.6 DOHC - Cyborg import
4G93T 1.8 DOHC - CC GSR
4G63T 2.0 DOHC - VR4 or EVO1/2/3
6A12TT 2.0 V6 QUAD CAM - HJ Galant import
 
After a turbo engine, so all those engines are the right orientation for a proton? If so thanks heaps, i guy also said with a 4g93T i can use my current 5 speed if i use the flywheel of the current engine, this sound correct?

I really appreciate ur help, i come from a world of Windsors and LS1's :p


Let me cut to the chase, i wanna know if this front cut will b suitable for my GF's proton, if so we will be bidding on it.

Buy a gsr 1/2 cut you will get just about everything you will need to do the conversion. Use the original 4wd gearbox and get CVAP to put a locking spline in it so it becomes FWD. Its a stronger box anyway.
 
I drive a proton m21 coupe, similar car. I did the 93t conversion. Just got a 94 GSR half cut and it was all there didn't have to change the loom just the ecu (straight bolt up). so easy virtually a straight swap. few small thing but in the scheme it was a piece of cake.
 
but with the 4G92P satria u will need to change the engine lom also.. so basically swap the whole cut into the satria, you might even consider throwin the half cuts dash, if its a japspec you will get the complete climate controle :) fold away mirrors etc
 
agreed just use pretty much everything out of the half cut there looms are different there a sensor that are non existent on the N/A version
 
When i say i stripped everything that means everything and replaced it with the EVO gear :p
