Hey,

Just went for a drive down the industrial area near me to test the car. Stood on it in 1st and 2nd right before police that were in one of the shops. They didn't get my speed but 28psi coming on is quite loud. Seeing that I haven't had a ticket/fine for 10 years or more they let me off with a verbal warning and said they have "flagged my car/plates". No ticket written or anything.

Anyone had this happen in QLD? Flagged?

I haven't but I've had friends who have been told that they've been flagged but never found out what it meant, they probably wouldn't do anything, just said it to make you fear something worse will happen if your caught in a similar offence.

Or they did make a note against your plate and it does mean that next time will be worse than the first time would have been?

Yep - Means next time it happens you're on the system as already having a warning and you won't get off so lightly next time.

Colour of the car wouldn't help as it's clearly different to any other in the area. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull you up to harrass you for little petty ****

Yep I got the feeling that if i'm seen out they will just try their best to find something wrong now. Changing plates won't help this i'm guessing

its no big deal....your car is now"flagged" on their system as a vehicle of interest. Simply put what has happen is they couldnt "prove" anything this time but if they have need to stop you again for something similar. They have a history to refer to albeit unproven...they can use that to push a charge through to conviction

drive sensibly and they wont need to stop you

'Flagged' is just a warning. They knew you did something wrong (speed, noise, whatever) but they couldnt prove it.
Even if you get caught doing something in future, the 'flag' cant be held against you because it was never a proven conviction to start with.
I reckon if they wanted to get you for something they would have. They're just playing mind *** games with you because sometimes they need to feel like they are in control and have the power to do what they like lol

ok well I've had my plates flagged a few times (they were stolen) what happened was about 2 months later i was sitting at a set of lights and my brother tried to read the fatal four under the wing mirror on a cop car. i got pulled up due to the flagged plates. had about 15minutes of explaining to do.

while on the car that was stolen i got flagged at an rby for a busted front bar and front indicator and told to have it fixed or next time i'm stopped i'd be facing a fine. never found out what came of that encounter.

i believe they are once again flagged thanks to all this **** I'm currently dealing with in relationship to the mod plate. i would assume it currently flagged as a VOI for illegal mods good thing i can't drive the sucker.

if they did indeed flag the car next time you encounter an officer on the road expect a higher likely hood of being pulled over. if your all sweet and your not loaded with defects (illegal mods) then after a few weeks the flag will most likely be removed

I guess the next time you get pulled over you will then know, to them now your probally a "person of interest" so when the run them plates the chances of being pulled over are probally greater. I dont thing changing the plates would do to much as your car is incredibally unique and just because its a bit different and ***** all over a vs commodore they will try to do anything fill there quota for the month.

Ive noticed round my area (sunshine coast) a massive increase of defects stations over the last week. Must be another blitz comming up to christmas.

It seems that if your a modified car owner your a criminal, and the majority are doing the right thing yet old bogan bill in this beat up VS commo with his cut springs and bald tyres gives the rest a bad name

And then brogan bill opens his fat mouth and says you pigs always pick on us car enthusiasts and he instantly puts himself in our demographic.

I like that ^^^^

You should have launched it as soon as they said they flagged you. They would have chased you and you could have said "I thought you gave me the green flag...."

"Well officer.. I thought you gave me the green flag so I ran to my car and launched it, I like these new anti-hoon laws".

I reckon they're just trying to give you the *****.... if they wanted to bust you for anything- they would. Flagged or not.

They say it here all the time, but they call it "BLACKLIST" which to me sounds racist but i aint goin there

Basically what they means your car is "recorded" and to be cautious whenever they see your car around

That's what i'm trying to say- they would only know that if they look your rego up... and if they are looking up your rego- chances are that you're already screwed.
