Greetings,

I've got a few questions as it seemed the shop I took my evo in to had accidentally drained the battery and reset the ECU as I now see that the seatbelt light in the gauge cluster is always on (never was before when I bought it) and the car no long makes a noise when i forget & leave my lights on when the key is out of the ignition.

With that said, do you know of a fix to the seatbelt light on the gauge cluster (disable it), and a way to get that warning beep back when the lights are left on?

How do I go about resetting the ECU myself if I need to in the future? Does my ECU being accidentally reset mean I may have lost my tune the car had previously? (just bought the car).

Second big question: I'd like to be able to view my boost #'s as I have no idea what PSI I'm running right now. I'm new to turbo cars and I'd like to know what boost gauge to buy and possible directions for wiring it up. It looks like the car previously had a gauge on it since there's a small gauge mount right in the middle of the steering wheel in front of the cluster. Any recommendations would be helpful.

Many thanks in advance!

there is a a loom under the seat that plugs into the seat beat latch fixed to the seat ..check its still plugged in.

No the tune is written in the eprom resetting ecu is a case of having battery unplugged long enough to reset the saved values of fuel ect that your using this will go back to normal as it learns what fuel you are using and sets its values don't ask me more than that tho ;)

Search button is your friend ;) its been covered here a billion times and with diagrams on how to hook up your vacuum lines for the gauge.

I no longer have stock evo seats in the car so I can't imagine that being the problem. I'll double check as soon as I get the car back from the shop again.

If someone could let me know where that "beeper" is that would be fantastic, Thanks :)

I've actualy tried the search, but I find the search feature on this website to be cumbersome and mostly unhelpful. For some strange reason it doesn't let you select to search thread titles only, instead it goes through all text and you get a million unrelated results =/. If you find a minute or two to answer this boost gauge install question it would be extremely helpful.

thank you,

When you buy the boost guage it will have instructions, but it is so simple any way, it is a mechanical guage, you just connect a tube from the back of it to the inlet manifold, there are severall lines you can tee into, most people use the line running to the blow off valve.

Ok, simply disconnected the battery and booting it back up seemed to have did the trick. Very stange ~_~.

On that same note, I looked under the passenger side dash and noticed that the ECU looks to be a gold metal box. Does the gold color of the ECU box indicate what ECU I might have? Unfortunately I can't really get in to see the details due to my roll cage being in the way.

Thanks,
