Has anyone installed a roof vent on their evo 1-3? I'm needing to do this as my car is nearly done being worked over and I'll need it for the hot summer rally days.

If there's any roof vent/scoops in production for our models cars, please let me know. If anyone has done the installation please let me know as well :)

Thanks!

second that i doen a bit of searching around most thins i could ccome up with are wrx wrc scoops which are pretty cool but meh custom maybe??

most motorsport shops would sell them.. either the pop up type or fiberglass.

as for intallation , just need to cut the roof panel and then they usually pop rivet in place.

Just be aware that when it rains the water pisses in.. so usually they have an inner type that has ball vents and then a long plastic tube for the water to leak from.

Let your fingers do the walking on rally web sites (all over the world) sell them that are pi$$ easy to find.

there is a guy here in adelaide that does a fiberglass replica of the works evo scoop.. they are around $450 inc the inner and the ball vents.

the way to go is this one...

TRS make a super sexy carbon fiber one for $699

I must say on a road car they look a bit to wanky for my taste.

I personally despise CF and it tends to raise the price through the roof. Are there any cheaper poly-u or plastics out there? Otherwise the fiberglass one could be a good choice. Happen to have any pics or links to the guy who does it?

Thanks,

nah no links sorry,

he is just one of the rally guys down here he just does underbodys and a little bit of fiberglass and kevlar work.. ill pass over his email for you and see if he is intrested in doing it..

cheers

Uh, I'm not an expert or anything, but are we talking about basically a lid that goes into a hole in the roof that you cut yourself? I don't think the lid needs to be model specific.

Sure, you could fab one yourself if you had the know-how, but it's not just simply a hole in the roof. I'd say the inner bracket/piece is the more difficult part (slopes the air, otherwise you would just have a sunroof hole. In any case, I don't have that kind of skill ~_~
