LOL, I think it was meant to be quite a serious and informative thread. Oh well, looks like it's up to me now.......sigh
RVRs - Can range in price from $1k for an SSG doer upper to 8-9k for a good example of a Hypergear R which were a limited production run.
- People don't really notice the Sports Gears (SG & SSG) because they look like a soccer mum, soft roader mini van. The Hypergear Rs have the full bodykit and get more attention, but it's really down to how you drive it, like
any car.
- They are a Jap import so realistically they have never had the oil changed or any maintenance at all worth a crap so expect to have worn out everything, but you might get lucky. Hypergears are generally looked after better.
- Parts like front doors and dash bits are almost identical to a nimbus, the rest isn't, and in my dealings trying to find parts, I've just bought parts cars for cheap and inventoried spares I don't use.
- Servicing should be something you need to learn yourself otherwise you'll waste your money paying for some apprentice to undo a bolt and turn a filter. Engine repairs are the same as any 4G, it can get expensive if you
need to rebuild an engine or gearbox, in which case it may be cheaper and easier to find a cheap hack and molest it for spares or make/modify parts that are a close match.
- They are moderately quick in manual form and there is the element of surprise if you have an SSG, the Hypergears give it away a bit with all the body kit, but they have a lot more punch so they can back up their looks.
-The bolt on engine mods are the same as an evo, or very close.
Hope this helps
Now that I've been mature I'm off to poke road kill with a stick and trip old people.
