Ok got all motivated and replaced all four stock springs with lower units. Bump stops as well. The ride is completely transformed, sits 50mm lower and has significantly improved the car. This site has been a great source of information so thanks to all.

If you're still looking for a drop in filter, i've got a K+n panel filter that fits stock airbox, was degreased and oiled ~3000km ago. I'll do it again if you're looking to buy.

If anyone else is looking, the K&N air filter part number is 33-2072. It's the same fitment as the FTO, but it does fit a few others too, such as Pajero Pinin, 7G Galant, etc.
