OK I am close to hooking up me SAFC. I have found that I have the same ECU as some Galant and Lancer GSR modles. Fir those who know it is the M4 ECU. I have no idea what that means but my question is this, is there an ECU I can get my hands on, stock, that might have a higher rev cut speed limiter.

Could it be as simple as get the Lancer or Galant 1 and just plug in??
I have heard that Hyundai put these solderd chips in to extent motor life. Is Mitsubishi as concervetive???

This is a picture of me ECU. Got some numbers and stuff printed on it.

I would like to know if any body has heard of a company called, Automotive EMF??

OK all hooked up and running. WOW. What a diferance. She got heaps more push now. I have found the best results negitive 30% on all. It is doing something but not what I thought.

I can't get rid of the CEL?? I have unpluged every thing and found that I can now run without the AFM hooked up??? Thinking of just putting on a cold pipe with no AFM and my pod.

Could I have done something wrong with the hook up to get a constant CEL? And can anybody tell me why if my dyno tells me I am running lean throughout my fuel curve, the SAFC is running best with max negitive and on zero% the car does smell fuely?

i don't think cars can run with a stock ecu and no afm!?

the safc works by modifying the signal recieved from the afm so if you unplug it, how can it work?..

also if the dyno says you're running lean, chances are you are running lean..
i rather trust a dyno then your nose..

You are right they don't run. I have tried in the past, and all that happens is it stalls. But now it keeps running, not only running I can drive it, so yer you are right, so I must have something wrong if it still runs hey?

Not so much my nose as my peddle, There is so much more power now. Also with the settings at -30% you don't smell the rich smell but most importantly is my o-60. The car is flying. :)

-30%....

This means your computer is seeing -30% air coming into the motor..

This means its going to crank timing..alot,its going to advance it a shitload, cos it thinks its in a Non-Load area..and isnt getting any air.

i"d be real carefull dude..it sounds like the shit your playing with is gonna cause your motor to run lean and blow up..the stock fuel curve would be fairly good, making it -30% will only make it run lean.
The car shouldnt run with the AFM Disconnected..it will idle, but not rev generally over 2.5 K..
The SAFC works by Adjusting the signal from the AFM and telling the computer something its not, dont forget..the computer sees this data and pulls timing all over the place...it doesnt know its being lied to.The fact your CEL is on is worrying enough..have you checked the wiring?
If its an SAFC2 it needs to be set to Karmaan Vortex sensor type.

The best and only benefit an SAFC will have on an N/A motor is if you Advance the base timing and flow more air.

Make up a good inlet..advance your timing to about 13-14 Degrees (if your engine isnt old & can handle it) and add a little bit of fuel and see how you go.
I wouldn't go pulling big numbers of fuel out of it.
You'll break it.

Ok OK. I have worked out the problem. D'oh. I wired it backwards. Got signel in and out arse about.
There you go hey, if you want to run with no AFM just hook up a SAFC backwards(hehe I am not going to do this) but ti does run and does give good power up, at the price of a shity idel and cold start.

I also found that the car runs with the throtle stop, O2, ISCM and AFM unpluged.

Back to my original Question tho, does the Galant GSR ECU have the same rev speed cut that my Hyundai does??
