I posted this up on alot of forums and I still cannot resolve this issue, but anyway...I have a Cordia Turbo, 4G63 SOHC and it has a severe missing problem. It misses on full throttle, full boost at about 5000rpm, it does not misfire if I disconnect the actuator from the wastegate (running NO boost), but we cant have this can we ;). I've had it dyno'd and the missing is caused by excessive richness at 5000rpm (10.5:1 a/f ratio). I found that disconnecting the coolant temp sensor actually fixes this problem, the car runs perfectly (except on idle) with not a single miss all the way to redline. I have replaced the CTS which has made no difference at all.

I have checked and replaced ALL ignition components: sparkies, 8.8mm NGK leads, reco and regraphed dizy, MSD Coil, so that side of things is top notch. I've also played with timing, I've advanced it to 10BTDC and it pings very slightly but the missing lessens slightly also and occurs just before 6000rpm, timing is currently set to 9BTDC.

Injectors, throttle body, fuel rail etc. have all been reco'd and cleaned (and clearly there is no lack of fuel anyway).

I've thought about going for a after market ECU or fuel controller but my guess is it too would not work properly if a sensor in the loom is faulty.

Any ideas of what I should be checking? I'm guessing that the CTS plays atleast some part in this problem due to the fact that removing it from the equation solves the problem. This problems is gay

So for the last two days, I have been racking my brain.. I recently installed an afpr. after the install it would only start after sitting an hour or so. It kept flooding itself. I had to pull the injector wires and burn off the fuel (it would actually start and run dor about 5 secs.) anyways. I finnally found the problem one of the wires going to the sensor on the thermostat housing (guessing water temp) anywasy with that one wire replaced I can now start the car any time the idle is fixed and it is bossting past 10 psi again. Shouls see the car on the road no later then next monday ..... SWEEET

you talkin about the sensor on top of the t-stat housing? isnt that the ac/overheating switch?

I auctally have 2 sensors one is on the top of the t stat housing (not connected to anything) and one on the bottom (which is the one I was refering to)

Shouldn there be like 4? AC, COMP temp, Sending gauge temp, and thermoswitch?

Yah, there "should" b4.1-gauge,2-ECU,3 AC cutout,4-emergency (fans run high speed)

Ya, this car has been hacked up pretty good. all I know is it is running so much better with that one sensor hooked up. there are a couple of wires that are free floating in there. ill be damed if I know what they do .

so which is the one on the direct top of the tstat housing? cause my wires are frayed a bit...

The top plug is the A/C cutout.
