i've always been under the assumption that leads are leads and they all do the same shit, but i had to test a set of faulty leads this arvo.. so i took out my ngks and tested a set of 'ea1' leads.. and it the car revs ALOT smoother on boost (until the faulty leads missed at high rpm). has anyone tried these?

so.. i've decided to upgrade leads. i've been recommended to use top gun, ralliart or magnecor.. anyone know which one would perform best?

i got some from AFAS.. they are custom made.. my car gets plenty of power and doesnt miss a beat.. and price wise i dont think you can do much better.. its about ~$110 for set.

you can get genuine magnecor ones from the US delivered to your door for that price...... 8)

meek sell the magnecor ones for $190.. if they're as good as everyone says they are, we can possibly organise a group buy from overseas?
my ngk ones don't miss a beat either.. but it just felt alot quicker and smoother on boost with bigger leads. was there a noticable difference using darren's or the magnecor leads?

if your willing to wait like 2 weeks lol.. magnacore are also made in sydney..meh anyways you can chose whichever you want.. doesnt phase me, just telling you what i have on my car and the experience with it, power/times speak words..

Well i ran 12.6 @ 106mph with my old leads (ngk leads).. and they were starting to play up.. so i got the ones off darren.. i was in two minds at first because i was going to get some magnacore ones.. but i tried them.. they worked great.. and obviously the car is much quicker now..

Does it ever stop??

FFS get over it dre.. i was merely stating what i ran with NGK's.. seriously.. if u wanna have a go at me do it via pm.. fucken giving me the shits.. next time ill just shut my mouth and you guys can go waste your money on whatever you feel like a please because this is getting ridiculous.. i wish i had 10k to throw at a motor and take it to a workshop and get them to work on it with no idea of what 'minor' improvements help make the car run soo much better... the workshop will build you what you want with whatever cash you wanna throw at it.. but at the end of the day you will not know all the details that go into that motor cos your too lazy or dont know how to do it..

and you have a go at everyone else on the forums who has done it and still doing.. who are trying to help other people out.. get off your high horse...

lol, does it ever stop??

you just told me to take it to pm, but yet you start trying to bite my ankles with comments like the ones above??

nk didnt ask you how fast you went, he asked everyone what the best leads are.

Just because you've run a flat 12 and rooted 2 engines in the process doesnt mean everyones going to go out and copy your setup.

If anyone needs to get off their high horse its you buddy!

And if anoyone else feels like im "having a go" at them, pm me and i'll tell you why.

in fact, if you type in magnecor 8.5mm into google you should get a few places too.

and if magnecor are made in sydney, why are they more expensive here than they are in the US? U can get the 10mm ones in the US for the price of the 8.5mm ones here

ive been to the magnacore warehouse/factory in sydney.. they are indeed made in sydney... maybe they are distributors all over the world from the warehouse in sydney or maybe there are other factorys all over the world.. but they are indeed made in sydney!

in regards to anything over 8mm.. its just extra thicker outsider layer... there is no differnce in them.. i know for a fact that the rigoli 9sec accent runs 8.5mm leads as i asked the guys in sydney.

Queensland ignition leads in Brisbane can also make up magnacore leads. I have been using their own brand 9mm spiral wound ones for the last two years without dramas. I have also seen these same spiral wound leads on APC's yellow evo drag car.

Was going to say something about qld ignition leads, can't say i've ever used them myself but have heard very good things about them.

These guys in nunawading made mine:

Performance Ignition Services
47 / 41-49 Norcal Road,
NANAWADING, VIC 3131

They're more expensive than overseas ($200) but I needed them almost instantly.

by the sounds of it you can buy magnacore blanks and make them yourself.. im not sure what 'blanks' mine are made of.

Jon

Its very simple
Population of the US verses population of AUS
Also quantity of mitsus that use that plug end and the buying power volume of the local dealer in australia.
But we will guarentee that the leads anyone buys from us that they will fit correctly.
Even jap vr4 and all early evo models.

They have the various cables on rolls, cut it to length, put the boots on and crimp the connections on. From go to whoa in about half an hour, to what ever length you want.

They even have lesser quality cable in a heap of different wanky colours so you can match them to your fully sic neons
