hi guys,

well i noticed 2 of my passenger side wheel studs have bent and stripped... lucky i spotted it...

and i removed the calliper and rotor and abs sensor and tried to have a go at removing the 2 studs..

but no luck there.. seems like i might have to disassemble the whole hub..

any help? tips?

thanxx in advance

There should be some bolts holding the hub on. But in fairly sure the 4 studs are attached to the hubs. Best get a new one. How badly bent are they. U can try straighten them if it's not ridiculous. Re threading is easy with a tap and die set :) but I'd just replace the whole hub. And bearings. It's obviously been hit hard

yeah i had the same thing happen to me recently from trying to undo overtightened wheel nuts thanks to the local tyre shop, ended up having to remove the hub and just bash the studs out...

i think there is a section on the backing plate that can be dented slightly so the studs will pass through. put a old nut on the threads and flog them till they loose then rotate hub till you find the spot with the nearest to going through. bash them through. by the time you have pushed 2 through, you will get the new ones back through. (but this might be for a wrx, cant quite remember) worth trying. maybe try loosen the backing plate for more clearance.
failing that, you wont need to pull the whole hub off, just out a bit. the shaft nut will reseat the bearing. or regrease bearings while you are in there

Thanx Guys,

will have to give it another shot and see how it goes...

definitely not re-threadable coz it seems to have ground off..

went to the wreckers and got 4 studs from a 92' magna.... <<<< so damn easy to remove. took one of my current wheel nuts to check the thread fitments and its perfect..
