I recieved my HotBits Coilovers today, but will most likely put everything once i sort out my turbo aswell.

Was just wondering what else would be good to change/replace in regards to suspension as I don't know much about it. Bushes or bearings maybe? I got a strut bar to go on aswell. What about swaybars? Are they necessary?

Is there anything else I'm missing before putting in the coilovers?

best value suspension upgrade.....

a bigger rear swaybar, major reduction in body rolland understeer.

I think bushes are probably a worthwhile thing to replace, especially if the ones in your car are the original ones. Did the front suspension bushes in my escort when I had it, it made a noticeable difference to how the car felt, also the car wasn't as "crashy" when driving on dirt roads. The steering felt more precise too. Then again, the bushings were completely totalled. Replacing any old suspension component will make the car feel better. And yeah, as veerfour says, big ass swaybars are good. I dont know how big is big enough, maybe someone else will be able to tell you.

yep go the bushes, get some good quality urathane (howver its spelt) bushes, prehaps get a castor kit etc.. but im sure you will find a diffrence, least off all it will help the coilovers work propperly because the rest of the suspension components are working propplerly..

yeap, i've decided to go a 22mm rear sway bar and replace all my bushes. will tell how it feels after :D

Don't get Nolathane - the red ones... Too stiff and no good

Go for Super Pro - blue ones - there is also another brand of blue ones (can't remember the name) but they are softer and perform more like rubber. Better geometry etc...
