OK me and my Girlfriend are going to Taz for a holiday in early Jan, We are driving around in my GSR (going across on the Spirit of Tazmania). I just wanted to kno of any good places that others have visited that arnt on all the tourist websites etc that would be worth a look or if somthing is genuinely really crap so we wont bother going, good places to stay, personal experiences etc. Just after a bit of helpfull input to make the plannig a bit easier. Cheers Guys.

elephant mountain pancakes or something along those lines.....

between hobart and launy

mad place to eat at....

imo Launceston shits on hobart

im from tassy, what sort of stuff do you want to do?

my mum has a seafood restaurant in launceston too

I live in the Huon valley...about an hour south of Hobart, there are a lot of attractions down this way....hastings caves and thermal pool, the tahune forest airwalk, very scenic place with great camping spots and great food.

Also bruny island is worth a look as they have an award winning high speed boat cruise which i have heard is worth the trip....my favourite place in the state though is Strahan on the west coast..great little town which is very tourist driven...with boat cruises and a wilderness railway and the drive in a gsr on the road from Hobart is second to none  also if you are into scenery and camping the central highlands is a must...lake st clair and cradle mountain are amazing.

went there 2 visit my mate for a weekend..
we were struggling to find things to do..
i didnt go there 4 sightseeing tho.. so that was probly half my problem
