Na man, these are the good ones....

GT Pumps have been selling these turbos for years, without any issues
 
Ive been lusting after a forced performance 68HTA for a while....
But if that's what gt pumps is on selling, same as their manifolds, and it lasts, thats great price for a capable turbo.

According to their great chingrish....
"The thrust bearing has been upgraded to performance size to be loaded much boost.." So they obviously arn't based on a genuine core.
So anyone know what the exhaust side is? Exact copy of the 070 turbine or a clipped copy maybe?
 
Looking around on Kando dynamics ebay store, they do sell a lot of different turbo and parts and kits. Can mix and match parts.
Just looking at gtpumps 16g as well, its even got a kando "ported" rear housing not a mitsi one, no step for the flame ring. So kando's products cant be too bad if gtpumps put their name on it.

There's also a dyno graph of their 20g on a vr4 running 20psi. Looks like its on boost by 3800. And 218kw at wheels. Not too shabby.
Even to 20g looks like its dropping off pretty quick from 6100-6500. But stock cams i guess.

i am fitting mine this morning will let you know how it goes. i bought the compressor housing and cartridge for 570 delivered. already had a big 16g exhaust housing (just hd to port it out and clean out all the oil).
 
Interesting thread... I have a big 16g and have lined up a comp housing which has been machined out to accomodate the 20g and have been considering the kando cartridge too... Will be good to see some feedback before I buy!!
 
I've used this seller 3 times, happy evey time. Products are good, support is good and shipping time is good. I believe these are the people that GTpumps, Rocket ind. and other Aussies wholesalers buy from.
 
I'd double check with Mark from GT Pumps before saying they are the same as what he sells.
I tried to rebuild a cheap ebay p.o.s. big 16 G but the bearing in it are larger than the Mitsi ones so a genuine rebuild kit won't work. Maybe this is their supposed "upgraded thrust bearing" which still don't even last 1000kms.

(Goes off to polish up the pointy steel caps on his ass kicking boots............)

Same here. Kando is the goods.
 
I was thinking though. for 850 US you can get a FP 68HTA, but then you either need to port it or pay them to do it. And shipping is more as well.
 
i have one of the gt pumps 20g and it is the ducks guts

i got 160kw at the wheels on 15psi with an old engine
 
I though id ask a few questions as im also slowly thinking about turbos...
So i asked him; if he did the the same TD05 20g, but instead of having the milled out stock compressor housing, have it with the larger TD06-20G compressor housing.

Im still thinking theres more efficent compressor wheels that have been developed since the 20g wheel, that other people are offering.

I also asked if the exhaust turbine is a copy of a stock TD05H, or if its modified like a clipped wheel.
He said back its a "genuine MHI TD05H / 12 blades of turbine wheel. "

Zage are the ones who manufacture all these turbos, and the aftermarket cast manifolds that these sellers and GT pumps sell.

I have used another seller on ebay before- Nickel_Sport. Last time I checked- they seemed to be cheaper than Kando Dynamic, and far cheaper than GT pumps....
 
What are the differences between the 11 and 12 blade turbines? Does 11 blade design come on earlier?

Here's a pic of the two. Is it me or does the 11 blade look painted?

TD05H wheel comes in earlier, its the stock evo 1-3 wheel, but can run out of puff up top that why some people clip them a few degrees when wanting higher boost say 20psi+ or more than stock redline, otherwise the back pressures and exhaust reversion gets to high.
Theres The flow ratings for these wheels written on some forums somewhere but its hard to find. Its hard to find the flow ratings of the exhaust wheels.

TD06SL2 is larger, flows more up top, slower to spool. Theres are a number of TD06 turbine variants, i saw a list of the sizes in order written by FP somwhere, i cant find it again though. SOMone had writted to FP and asked to rank them and they posted the reply.
 
after driving around on 15 pound for a few days i wish i had the cams to back up the turbo. however the turbo has not missed a beat not a single trace of smoke
