Hey guys is it just me or are the 4 door V8s from both ford and holden seeming like better value everyday?
I keep looking at the SS's/XR8s from the last few years and they are looking like a heap of car compaired to my evo 3, does anyone else feel the same way about their car?

Well if you have an evo 3 and dont love it anymore, i will happily give it the love and attention it so rightfully deserves!!!!!

But i must admitt i wanted a new FG FPV Typhoon like in the commerical, i wouldnt buy a 8 but a new black on black typhoon....Damm i would be tempted too hehehe

i prefer the new holdens then the fords.. they just look soo much more meaner..

i love the new utes tho.. bloody hot..

Yeah thats what I am saying, there is no way I would ever buy one new, but 24K, that is alot of car for that money!

Firstly, I don't think that the 8's would be much worse on fuel than a lightly modified 4G63T if you happen to be a spirited driver...

I drive an SS-V ute as a daily and i'd have to say that it is an awesome car but if I wanted something orientated around performance as a package, I wouldn't for a second be looking in the direction of an SS or an FPV. I don't think you can compare what we all drive against one of these - it really is chalk and cheese...

Also, I have found that these cars are an invitation to the loss of a driver's licence. I can't believe how much torque the SS has...any gear, just a prod of the loud pedal and you're speeding. I wish I could do that with the other car without having to wring it's neck and draw a shitload of attention!

I like the concept (as do most people) of the 4L turbo - I am sure i'd be the proud owner of the Typhoon sedan but IMHO the ute looks like a POS! It looks like the tray has been 'tacked-on' as if the whole car was an after-thought. The ute only (just) won best bang for your bucks this year because it's marginally cheaper and has more grunt and torque, but it handles like a canoe...the SS on the other hand...

I guess, when you put it in perspective; look at what you get in a car these days as compared to what you would have had ten years ago...and all for the same price. Are the SS and FPV utes good value...bloody oath!

An 8 is fun for about lets say 3 laps of the block I reckon I would get sick of doing burnouts after that. Thats all I see a RWD car as being for, I fun as it is I reckon I wouldnt have a licence more often than not if they were my car of choice.

The fords will eat them up for lunch!!

You cant beat the XR6-turbo's...
Easy 300kw's with an exhaust / intake / tune..

yeh i agree, a mate of mine is in the market for a car and i been throwing some suggestions at him but his all like nah it has to be RWD...im like why?! what has RWD ever done for you? its cost you fines from having your car impounded and cost you $$$ from spinning out and hitting things....and if he gives me that B.S reasoning oh RWDS handle better then FWD ill never buy a FWD ill slap him...those days are over! he needs to take a DC2R or something similliar for a spin i reckon..

but on the new cars....VE Malloo is fucking horn!!! although i love jap cars too much i cant see myself ever been behind the wheel of a commodore or falcon by choice

*sigh* try making any more power out of them without spending BIG $$$

V8's have their place and if you know how to drive sensible (every now and then) they can be just as fuel efficent as a turbo 4.

My parents 6.0ltr (270 kW 362 hp), 1891 kg (4168 lb) Caprice uses less fuel then my 4g63t powered lancer, on an average week.

The perception that a V8 will keep you at petrol stations for the rest of your life is probably the only reason they depreciate so quickly. But this means that people in the market for one s/h are in luck! I've seen VX HSV GTS's go for sub 30k... that's a hell of a lotta car for the money!

I get a 20% employee discount on every brand new Holden model (import and local) and 30% off Statesman and Caprice.

You know how tempted I've been to get a VE SS, 6 spd manual....

The original XR6 turbo was built quicker than the XR8's,
and then Ford said 'oh shit' this cant be good, the 8 is our premium model (excluding FPV) so they limited its power,
all you gotta do is chip the mofo, then its... "hello..... goodbye"

but both the FPV's and HSV's look great IMO.
i think new cars in general are coming out more "modified"
you cant beat the typhoon with the massiv i/c hanging out the front though. TOUGH

The EB XR6 Falcons yes. 161KW fo the 6 and 166kw for the 8, but it was the weight difference that made the xr6 faster down the 1/4 stock. They gave the ED xr8 more power after that:p.

I always wanted to TT the EB xr6....but anyway.

P.S.

Your all banned for wanting holdens and fords:p:p
