i had this emailed to me today, can't see it myself as i'm banned again

it's a great idea - in theory, but i can see this open to lots of abuse, insurance companies have assesors to inspect vehicles to justify the cost of repairs, it would be quite easy for repair costs to be bumped up, who will do it under this system to ensure people aren't ripping of the system? what happens when a couple large claims are made close together? will the fund be able to cover this, or if a car is written off will they pay out $50k for a replacement vehicle? not all cars can be repaired, with the Mod in Melb rolling his Evo IX & one of the Adelaide Mods putting his Evo VII into the wall at 150kph there's 2 claims totalling $60K just in the last month, i know i wouldn't want to contribute to the fund & then when i need to make a claim finding the money has dried up

Good luck to them, I hope they get it up and going and that it all works as intended, my instinct tells me otherwise though.

It wont work.
If 1 guy has 2 mishaps, he's gonna get a good end of the deal.
Then the guy whos a great driver isnt gonna benefit at all, so he's gonna kick up a fuss.
In theory the idea is great, in practicality, it wont work.
You need an external source for things to work.

I believe it is stupid.

It wont ever work on a large scale.

Ppl knows the risks of taking their orad registered vehicle to the track...

do the crime do the time.

+1
Speed events and motorsport will always have a high risk of damaging or writing off your car....if you cant afford the consequences of this happening DON'T participate in track days.
