Well well, I think the GT pumps have sold me a lemon, I have massive lag issues on my vr4, and it sounds like my turbo seems to be surging.

Has any one come across this sort of issue before? I t happen to me returning from cairns I got to cardwell then ended on the

back of a tow truck. Lucky for me I had RICQ or it would of cost me $450 for the tow.

I've had my gtpumps e3 big 16g for a few years now with no problems whatsoever
maybe it's a massive boost leak (i.e. intercooler piping come off)...

What was the car actually doing?
jolting on boost, no power or what?

good luck with it :)

^ I tend to agree...I highly doubt that Mark would have sold you a lemon...before you go jumping to conclusions, I would be determing what caused the issue....And at least tell us what happened leading up to the problem..?

That's it mate nothing was wrong till i left cairns and started playing up from there. I changed the oil before I left townsville the car was in perfect condition running 12 psi. I just pulled it off the car and noticed all the oil around the seals, ofc I am pissed off if you can only see my rage right now as i have paid about $1300 for it. I really should pull it apart to see if I can see any issues but i'll void it, and no one a GT pumps seems to want to help me with the turbo.

There's no power at all like i can't even pass 50km. I checked the intercooling piping boost lines etc everything is good. Just see all this oil in the turbo and around the seals.

its also jolting on boost.

Can you take some photo's of where the oil is located?
Is there oil in your intercooler piping after the turbo and in the intake before it?
Also, where are you feeding the oil from? Head or filter?

i'll be posting pictures soon mate you u guys have a look see at my lemon turbo.

Are you getting a lot of crankcase pressure and is your PCV working at all?
Also, hows the MAF and airfilter?
But yeah, photos are definitely a must here...

Sounds like there is a more pressing issue than a dead turbo. If the turbo was dead IMO, the car would still rev, and accelerate. Though slow, it would still do it. I doubt it would be jolting. It is also not uncommon to have oil present on the impeller blades of a turbo, especially on a older engine. It has the symptoms of a boost leak imo. But only once there is enough pressure to break the seal. For eg, dodgy atmo bov, silicon hose that looks on but isn't, faulty hose clamp. Or a dying ignition system.

What ecu do you have?
Do you have any cel's?
How long has the turbo been on for?
Could you have over filled the oil? (not judging merely asking, stranger things have happened)
Is there oil on the exhaust side of the turbo?
How much shaft play is there?
Who did you talk to at GT Pumps?
At what rpm, is it coming on boost?
Have you done a leak test on the piping?
