www.antrx.com are organising a Dyno Day at RE Customs (www.recustoms.com.au) Springvale on Sept 9.

We have a number of both stock and modified Nissan cars running, so I thought that I would put out the challenge to Mitsubishi drivers to come along and pit themselves against the might of Nissan. It will be a great chance to find out what power your car is producing and at the same time check out the competition. We already have a Ford, a Honda and a couple of Holden's registered to run, but no Mitsubishi's, YET.

Plus this is also a great chance to introduce yourself and get to know Ray, the owner of a very professionally run workshop. Any day of the week, think of a fast Jap car and you could find it in this workshop. Ray will take the time to discuss what's possible for your car and budget and won't try and sell you on what's going to make him easy money.

If you're interested, please e-mail the details of what you will be running on the day (Model, engine, FWD/RWD/AWD) to [email protected]

Please only confirm if you know that you can make it.

The total number of cars is limited, so first in best dressed.

The price is $40 per car and for that you get "3 power runs (shoot out mode), print
out with boost level, power, and Afr."

RE Customs have generously offered to put on a BBQ and provide prizes - "such as free service, oil, merchandise" if we can get a good number of participants. I will let you know details closer to the day, including a full list of who and what is running.

Please note that time restrictions will not permit any tuning while on the Dyno. Bookings for this specialised work will need to organised with Ray for a more suitable time.

Don't forget to e-mail me at [email protected] with your details.

Do we have to pay before hand? Is there a schedule of what time we will be running?

ie.

9am start
9:15 am - first car
9:45 am - second car

etc...

Jon

The final plans have been agreed upon for the Dyno Day. The following will outline how the day will be run.

Cars will run in order of driveline. FWD ? RWD and then AWD.

A range of time has been set aside for each driveline:

FWD 9.00am - 12.30pm
RWD 12.30pm - 4.00pm
AWD 4.00pm - 6.00pm

When you arrive and pay, you will be given the order that you are going to be put on the Dyno. It would help the day run smoothly if you could arrive and register before the start time of your cars driveline. If you arrive late, I can?t guarantee that you won?t have a long wait.

A FREE BBQ will be offered between 12.00pm - 2.00pm for all, including spectators. Drinks can be purchased from the vending machine.

The winners of the following 4 categories will receive a voucher for a FREE minor service at the R E Customs workshop.

ALL SPOTS ARE NOW TAKEN.

Please be sure to bring the correct money ($40 cash only), your patience (it's going to be a long day) and a camera so that you can post pics for your forum.

A limited area will be available for spectators to view the cars on the Dyno.

Please ensure to check your cars fluids are at the correct level.

Thanks to everyone who has registered.

Brad

If for any reason you are not able to attend, please contact me at [email protected]. Your spot could be offered to someone else.

Hi All

Couple of things to remember for the Dyno Day.

- Please ensure that your tyres are in good condition. If there is a nail, etc in one of your tyres, the car won't be allowed on the Dyno
- 40psi tyre pressure will produce the best result
- All cars will be reversed onto the Dyno
- No smoking in the work shop

There is a pool table for all to enjoy. PLEASE SHARE

There has also been some slight start time changes due to the fact that a few FWD cars have withdrawn and been replaced by RWD.

The NEW times are:

FWD 9.00 am - 11.30 pm
RWD 11.30 pm - 4.30 pm
AWD 4.30 pm - 6.00 pm

very well organised dyno day!!!
not many people hung around after their runs tho.. which was a shame but the day went smooth..

congrats go to the organisers.

Jon

Awesome day. As jon said very well organised. Bloody cold though :D

Jon won the 4wd and the 2ltr and under forced induction catagory with 219.7kw at all 4. More left in it, running rich and water spluttering all over the place.

I won FWD catagory and was coming 3rd in the 2ltr and under forced induction catagory when i left, with 184.4kw at the fronts. Ray from RE customs said my bald tyres were slipping on the dyno and was making the figures lower than they should be

Congrats to brad for the organisation. The list of cars were awesome. Ill post up pics when i get the time.

ummmm cars of note. A stock evo 5 with exhaust had 152kw and an evo 6 with exhaust had 154kw. A relatively stock 3000GT made me cream my pants and pulled 204kw's at all 4. An F6 Typhoon pulled an effortless 234kw's and sounded so calm doing it. A nice S14 pulled 190kw's.

I got my laughs for the day with the LS1 VZ SS commodore with exhaust and SS induction, only managed 180kw's hehe i beat it with 2ltrs.

They were having a break before a couple of GTR's were coming on when i left but i'd been there since 9am and was getting frostbite :D

Thankyou again to Brad for squeezing me in and Ray from RE customs who worked all day to ensure a smooth flowing dyno day.

Cheers,
Nick

Fucked gasket? Since when? is there a seperate thread about this??

No thread about it

Since 2 months ago when my radiator blew. I thought nothing of it and a leak down test came back that it was fine. I have had a water problem since 2 months ago.. and i really thought nothing of it.. it became more obvious once i started to boost it constantly.. it was overheating heaps.

It only had 1 run on the dyno day.. that run it made 219.7kw then started to splatter water everywhere.. when that happened i told them straight away to kill it.. so the motor was turned off.. let to rest and i drove it home.. now its sitting in my garage with no head.. but itll b fixed soon enuff!

Conclusion was that it stretch a factory head bolt which in turn let water in.. this would only happen on boost because it was under pressure.. other then that it was fine and didnt leak.. so yer.. i gues si ran low 12s on a fucked head gasket..

Got my new arp head studs and cometic gasket here ready to go in.. Give it a tune and another dyno run.. see what it makes.

Oh yer.. after the dyno i was talked into going to heathcote to race even tho i knew i fucked the gasket.. i only had 2 runs as it overheated and i didnt want to risk it anymore.. 12.2 and 12.9 respectively.. here is something to have a laugh about..

Other quick cars on the day included Dwayne Gerdes LC-406 going 9.78/136. Kris? ?REXNFX? ran well for a 12.16 and the dark green GSR Lancer wasn?t too far behind going 12.20. A unique competitor was the huge green Dodge. The big machine wasn?t a slouch at 13.8/97
